I just finished watching episode 12 and I have to say….. the turtle arc was 4/10 while the rest of it was easily on par with season 1. The turtle arc was just terrible. It adds some “significant” information for the story but you’re better off reading a summary on the turtle arc and starting on episode 7 of season 2 to get the shield hero experience we liked in season 1.

Which ep does the turtle arc end I was planning to watch s2 but heard a lot of fans saying its trash and not worth it so I didnt bother but I kinda enjoyed s1 and Im curious to see what will happen next.

Turtle arc ends at the end of episode 6. The turtle arc is the reason why season 2 score is so low which makes sense. It was atrocious. But I think you should really start at the last 5 minutes of episode 6 after reading a summary of the turtle arc.

The whole season 2 is trash. If turtle arc alone was trash the ratings wouldn't be do low because Shield hero have 6 episodes to redeem it self. The coping is embarrassing now lol. It seems the ratings must drop to 5 for you guys to wake up to reality

It would be better if you link an anime summary, not an LN. The anime cuts half the content out and changes stuff.

facts skip it… ost is fine asf but like that was literally the highlight of the arc and rishia got too much damn screen time. It gets good when the vassal heroes come back and glass fixes her yeeyee ass haircut.

I disagree that the second half is even that much better than the turtle stuff, it's trying to cram too many characters in to not enough episodes resulting in none if them being interesting or memorable. The art and animation remains incredibly lackluster as well.

The prison island episode is probably the only one I'd give a positive rating to, simply because it's actually paced well and isn't trying to cram too many characters into it.

The new arc isn’t that much better either, just a bunch of weird things happening all of the sudden and very little explanation for it.

Like that girl that suddenly appears out of nowhere and tries kill Naofumi and his group by herself, and after some lazily done fight she goes drinking tea with them….

And the production doesn’t get better either.

Turtle arc is weak, but not Bad (Novel/manga).

You should skip the entire Season 02 and read at least the manga, this adaptation was a mistake.

that ep 12 is so boring T_T. I was waiting for a good and awesome fight but when I finished it I just shout and said "really did kyo and naofumi fight??? is that a fight, it is finished already?" 🙂

This should be a lesson for anime directors to not cram a lot of things in one episode. seriously, it's not well received because the 3 years of anticipation just went to nothing. They adapted volume 6 to volume 9 of the Light Novel in a single cour so the pacing feels so fast. The Turtle arc shouldn't be that bad if they did it properly.

Turtle arc was very bad. Rest was not great either. A bit better, but no where near on par with season 1. Season 1 was a masterpiece. This season felt like a generic isekai anime. Hopefully season 3 brings this show back to its former glory. Honestly the end of the season almost resets it back to how it was at the beginning. You could probably just skip this season and you wouldn't miss much haha. Or watch this season with the expectation that it will be bad and just laugh at how bad it is. I had a lot more fun watching it once I accepted that it just wasn't gonna be great haha.

Season 1 isn't worth watching either. The first 4 episodes are outstanding, but it has only about 4 good episodes after that, and really good music, but otherwise the season is lackluster, and greatly varies in quality.
Moreover S2 is just utter garbage so even if you felt positive about S1 (which is only possible if you suppress your logic and don't require proper story-telling, and character+world building from a show), S2 will be a disappointment.
And unlike Promised Neverland, S1 of Shield Hero isn't good enough to worth the disappointment of a horrible season, after a mediocre one with some great moments.

Holy shit was the turtle arc really that bad bc I remember after season 1 needed I went to read the manga and I dropped it bc it was boring so I’d thought they’d do it better in the anime but I guess not since the backlash it hs received. I guess this arc was so bad and boring that the anime couldn’t do it justice😭

Just watch the first 4 eps of season 1 and skip this whole anime lmao, that's the only decent stuff. No idea how this generic isekai got so much clout. 99% of edgy revenge is just a cheap and shallow type of plot, and this anime is one of them. Bad MC, bad side cast, bad villain, bad story. See, once the revenge part is over, nobody gives a fck. But ofc they'll use another cheap and shallow method to gain clout, not by adding more revenge bullshit, but instead use the garbage overpowered ability plotline. Omg what a clever way, best LN ever 😱😱. So clear to me that this anime is just a cash grab targeted to a 12 yo edgy boy or older ppl with similar mental state.

Don't mind me, it's just been a long time since the last time I talked shit bout this series, I kinda miss the feels.

Don't skip the turtle arc just cause it wasn't the greatest of moments. it's not gonna be the end of your life watching a few episodes, there's been much worse and there is still stuff to gain. if you ever get the idea to skip part of an anime then just watch something else.

I've never understood why people say shit like this is they actually like the characters? maybe the arc isn't a good as you would like but it still contains the characters everyone likes seeing. for instance bleach filler. yeah its def not near as good as the main arcs but you still get great character interactions and such. same here. im just happy for another 12 eps. why would I skip half of them when id of liked 24 honestly
