| Volume 5, Chapter 5: There may be some cultural differences that I'm not aware of, but Shinon's backstory is incredibly stupid. The fact she has PTSD is pretty good. She did kill a person so it makes sense. What I don't understand is how she got ostracized from it. She had one of the most justifiable self-defense kills a person could have. The man she killed had just shot a man and threatened to kill more. Any information that witnesses would have leaked would have clearly shown that Shinon saved lives that day. What gets me is that there are better ways that story could have been written. She could have received near universal praise, but still be haunted by the event. An even better story would be if she had accidentally killed her father in a firearm incident. That unfortunately happens in the United States from time to time when a kid gets their hands on a gun and don't know how to handle it safely. |
