I mean 2000s "FLCL" is our childhood, no one want's to see it tarnished.
In the 2010s I skipped watching the movies, I'm a TV type person and only occasionally get out of my comfort zone. For movies, OVAs, ONAs and whatnot.

The movies were horrible. I am expecting nothing and I am still ready to be disappointed. I hope it is better than Alternative and Progressive. Still going to watch tho

There hasn't been a FLCL movie, they've all been TV shows. Well except the original FLCL, that was an OVA series.

Edit: I believe Progressive And Alternative are categorized as movies on Myanimelist since they got shown in Japan that way. But they were always meant to be tv series. Both series also premiered on American television as tv shows months before they got shown in Japan as movies.
