Read it. There’s no guarantee they wont rush the anime unfortunately. The LN are 100% fire though.

COTE is my first LN and Im really loving it. The anime really rushed the first 3 volumes and could also rush the next ones (which are great) so I would recommend you to read the LN.

Also, you will probably like Ayanokoji a lot more in the LN

You're better off reading the LN, S1 was a pretty bad adaptation of the series and with S2 being the same studio. It's hard to believe that they'll be a faithful one this time around. Ayanokouji is a million times better in the novels, so if you're a fan then I'd recommend that route.

I think it's better for you to read the LN. At least, you'll understand what's going on since season 1 was a butcher of an adaptation. And obviously, the Light Novel is just better.

I'm reading it too and it's really noticeable.

I wouldn’t spoil yourself unless you really like LN’s

I’m anxious about the quality of the adaption, but the novels are worth it.

Read the Novel .Don't wait for season 2 . I would recommend you to read it from volume 1 ...LN is way better than the anime .

I have found the LN to be the superior medium for enjoying COTE.

The light novel is just superior. You can't understand what's going on in the character's heads, especially Kiyotaka just by watching the anime. I don't think I'll ever prefer the anime over the light novel because this isn't a series in which watching is important. It's mostly character interactions and that will always be better in text.
P.S. start from volume 1, some stuff is different.

my dumbass thought this said the nucleotide contains five-carbon, a nitrogenous base, adenine, one phosphate group, and the deoxyribose sugar which is joined to the nitrogenous base forming a deoxyribonucleoside called deoxyadenosine LOL

You better read the light novel cause it consists of the scenes which the anime doesn't have. The anime actually skips many parts from the light novel. So it is better to read the light novel so that u can understand the story better.

Definitely give the LN a try. I don't like reading in the past but COTE drew me into it, it's the first LN that I've read and actually enjoyed. In my opinion it's also way better than the anime adaptation. After catching up to the latest volume, I also started reading other LN's so in a way COTE made me addicted to reading

It all depends on you, the source of the anime is always the best choice to dig deeper into the anime, that is only if you like reading LNs.
yes.

If you like reading light novels then do it. Otherwise wait, I think its about 50/50 on if the anime will be as good as the novel.

i watched the anime first bc i didn’t know theres a ln and when i found out there’s no season 2 i found the ln and decided to read it. idk why but anime ayanokoji and ln ayanokoji feel like 2 completely different people up until the end of s1 when he was thinking those things about horikita. so i say read the ln just know there’s like almost 20 books lmao

First of all why does everyone hate the anime adaptation so much like it did a wonderful job on its own and attracted us to read the LN. Now to answer your question if you want to know the story in a detailed and interesting way I say go for it the LN is beautiful on its own and if you read start from vol1 coz a lot of scenes were swapped and characters changed. Also the character personalities are quite different in the Ln specially Ayanokojis.

If you are a fan of Light Novels in general, from what I've heard at least, the LNs are great and you should definitely read them to gain as much info as the source material provides. Since some of that might be skipped or glossed over in the anime.

However, if you are like me and you pretty much never read LNs, then obviously wait for the anime.

Pretty much, if you enjoy Light Novels in general, read it. If not, wait for the anime.

I think you should wait for the 2nd season. But if it's bad then try reading light novel. 95% chance that the light novel won't disappoint you.
