The first time I watched My Neighbor Totoro I was surprised how anxious the whole thing made me. It just had this aura of something bad going on. And then it ended and I realized I was completely wrong to feel that way. So I made a video describing these strange, mysterious feelings.

My experience was somehow opposite of yours! I found it super sweet and wholesome the first time i watched it, but that immediately changed when i read those dark theories about it (if you don't already know about them, google at your own risk) and I haven't been able to unsee them since. Really makes me wonder if the uneasy feeling most adults get when watching it is actually intentional...

Yo i know what you’re talking about, so there were conspiracy theories and rumors about the deep, twisted reality of the actual meaning behind totoro talking about kidnapping and death lol

I shouldnt have read about stuff like that before watching the movie itself cuz it kinda ruined my view on it :(

I kind of know what you’re saying. Whenever Totoro got that huge grin on his face, I thought he was going to bite off her head or something but then it never happened. It was a wholesome movie but it gave off unsettling vibes sometimes.
