With the remake of Fruits Basket and its big success, it made me revisit this anime which myself and many people love so much. It was already amazing as it was, I still even re watch it sometimes. But I would love to see them remake it with better quality and possibly give it more detail and make it longer to continue into the manga. Anyone think this could possibly happen? Or would like to see this happen?

I want Ouran season 3 so bad
The manga was peak
And I do think it deserves some spotlight at the very least
Because the way I see it this is a hidden gem

I would love to see Ouran fleshed out properly. Chances are very unlikely though sadly.

I saw the show for the first time last year and while I haven’t seen Fruit Basket (2001 or 2019) or Brotherhood I thought it deserved the same treatment as soon as I finished it.

That would be very nice, but highly unlikely to happen. The manga is already finished and an anime adaptation covering its entirety would need a surge in sales from a reprint effort or what remains of the series' merchandise if there's any even left.

In other words, anime adaptations are meant to make money as they generate hype and exposure for the manga and as a result provide an avenue for merchandise creation and sale. A studio can't make an anime without some faith they'll recoup the losses of making it. That's why manga that are serialized from an anime original show or light novel don't last long, they just last as long as it's selling. In the case of a manga to anime situation, you get the idea: the anime lasts as long as it needs to to boost its original manga sales.

It still has a steady fanbase as well as newcomers picking it up as well. The fact that the manga is still in print and that merch is still made for it is a good sign, so maybe. It'd be cool if they did remake it and give it the Brotherhood treatment.

tbh actually that's a really good idea but tbf unlike fruits basket there's really nothing wrong with the anime itself other than the fact it doesn't cover everything

Personally I think it's definitely big enough to make an appeal
No watch list sig cuz "You watch anime in 3 days or 3 months! Such is the proper way!"

I'm actually a bit surprised that Ouran hasn't gotten a new adaptation or sequel yet, considering how popular and loved the original anime is. As for the manga, it's pretty much the same as Fruits Basket in regards to popularity and rating.
The fact that they're making a new Tokyo Mew Mew over Ouran is laughable.

yeah, but the fanbase is still growing and merchandise is still being sold. they aren't going downhill anytime soon. a remake could definitely draw in even more, just like fruits basket/fma

I’d honestly prefer an outright sequel with similar staff. The director and series composition writer for Ouran (Takuya Igarashi and Enokido Youji respectively) still work with Bones, they’ve just been working mostly on Bungou Stray Dogs for the past 6 years (with the 4th season announced with them on board already). Also, I don’t know how hot a take this is, but the original versions of FMA and Fruits Basket were outright better adaptations of the manga material they covered than their reboot counterparts (whether because of better directing, pacing, or some anime-original content that built upon the material more). I think just redoing the entire Ouran series would be kind of pointless, since the anime is already really good as is, and even the anime original ending still left off on a note that’s open-ended enough that it could easily lead into a proper sequel anyways. My ideal sequel would bring Enokido Youji and Takuya Igarashi back and finish adapting whatever manga material the first anime didn’t cover. It’d even save them resources with less material to animate.
