The first SUCCESSFUL Anime series every created. Do you thnk this holds even after almost 60 years? Aside from the casual racism and stereotypes.

I watched a few episodes (1, 2, 3, 10, 52, 56, 71, and 193) I didn't notice any "casual racism" or stereotypes in them. That aside, Tetsuwan Atom doesn't hold up at all. It's a childish, low-budget, old black & white show, with nothing to offer to a modern viewer, unless you're interested in anime history.

I only really enjoyed episodes 1 and 71. Especially 71 felt a little more creative and even slightly more mature (It was also partially colored). But besides that, it was tiresome to watch. That's because, with each episode, they'd try to shove as much stuff as possible into those 20+ minutes, without any regard for proper pacing. At times it felt ridiculously disjointed - Constantly jumping from one plot point to another, changing scenes, changing characters, changing pace. It felt like keeping up with constantly changing events required way more focus than it should. I stopped watching, once I started to feel annoyed by it. There's no way, I'd want to watch the full 193 episodes.

Only watch it, if you're interested in the history of the medium. Or just watch the 1980 version, I've heard it was better

Like @Tulkas_astaldo said, its more for you if you're interested in anime history. Watching the series with like 15 I did enjoy it, but I also read the manga at the same time so it was interesting to compare how they animated the chapters. But if you're not in for a particular chapter but rather for the story you could watch eg the 2009 Movie
Trying to watch all available anime series so you won't have to anymore, the list of anime I can recommend is still in progress, tho

It is one of the few series where it is impossible to make a marathon. I can watch 2-3 episodes a day max. And I even took a long break around the middle till I decided to continue.
But at the same time I feel this is much better and more faithful to the character of Atom and the rest of the cast when compared to the 80s and 2000s series. For the 2003 series it is easy to watch 10 episodes in one sitting. Not so for the 60s series.

The dialogues are more suited for an adult audience too when compared to the other remakes.

Alternatively you can pick the English dub which has fewer episodes, around 100 and easier dialogues.
