Should i watch the anime or read the manga?

Hi im new to this I have finished watching all the higurashi anime (except the 2 new gou and sotsu). I want to wacht Umineko first but i wonder should i watch the anime or read the manga beacause i want to know the full story. The anime have lower rating than the manga and i dont want it to be like Tsukihime (the manga is better than the anime) .So can you guy tell me should i read the manga or watch the anime (or both i dont really mind)

Read the manga dude, anime is dope. Manga is way better than anime and it's just optional you can just skip it and watch gou/sotsu its not gonna ruin anything

Read the manga (or the VN). The anime is dumb cheesy fun. Nothing more.
