| Ao Haru Ride is quite a special romance anime. Its not really romance to be honest, since its slice of life components are what makes it truly shine. What I find most unique about the anime is how the perspective shifts half way through the story. We first start out with Futaba as the main character, but as the show progresses the narrative shifts, and Kou becomes the spotlight of the show. I dont see many shows do this, where the main character changes in the middle of the story. It was really interesting to go into the story focusing on one person and end up finishing with a completely different viewpoint |
