| Maybe it’s because the adaptation makes it seem like he (Banri) had a conflict to choose one or the other. The story is mostly about moving on. Finding solace or acceptance within the decisions taken (Or the lack of) and embracing the uncertainty of the unexpected in his future with someone new. Linda lost her chance because she did not confess. Banri had to move on (Which is something that both of them did) and not stay stuck in the past. The story wouldn’t make sense if Koko didn’t win. She was always the Endgame. |
