I have seen it. Not a masterpiece 7/10. Genric slasher mystery elevated by satoshi kon cinematography. I prefer paprika way more than this from his works

I'm weirdly obsessed with mindfucks, and The lengths ken took to evaluate the colour corrections, atmosphere and further subtle details in literally situations you wouldn't even contemplate to pay attention to, and making it actually play a role in a crucial plot line later on...I could go on. Easily a 10 for me.

This movie is a masterpiece for me as well. It definitely does have Hitchcock or Kubrick flavour to it. The art style and the creepy music mashes well. Despite being his first film, this is better than some of Satoshi Kon's later works (maybe except for Paranoia Agent).

It's a classical delve into the world of idols. It's a great study of art and psyche. But at the same time, it's nothing revolutionary. I think people are blowing this film out of proportion.
