As far as the story and depth goes is the manga better to read then Watching the Anime? I watched it but didn't see the complexity about it like everyone makes it out to be.

Yes the manga goes more in depth and is therefore more complex.

People don't say that the anime is complex, rather that at the end there's still a lot left to be explained, the manga does a better job of covering that. Also the artwork is incredible.

Both are great, but the film only adpats around half of the original story. It was directed by the mangaka, so it's still very similar in tone, and in a lot of the earlier scenes, but the manga is better. When people say the film is complex, I feel like they're referring more to the ending than anything else, and everything the the film ending touches on (it is a bit different), is explored much more in the manga.

I heard somewhere that the film only covers the 1st and the 6th volume (there are 6 in total) while skipping most of the lore in volumes 2-5. I read it and I can confirm that there is a lot you miss when only watching the movie, but I personally didn't understand everything even through reading the manga, guess my IQ is too low. But it definitely gets more complex with the manga, I mean they left 2/3 out yknow 😂

Yeah you should definitely read the manga, the movie left me with lots of questions and thankfully the manga was able to answer all of them.
Was very surprised of how much of the story was left out in the movie.

I literally forgot everything that happened. I only remember being confused and impressed lol. I’d probably read the manga if I wanted more clarification too
