| during episode 10, samon is trying to convince mahiro that hakaze is 2 years in the past, so he tells her to carve a word into the barrel, and if it shows up on the barrel in the present day, it proves she is 2 years in the past. What is stopping her from simply pretending to carve something into the barrel? Her goal is simply to convince mahiro to use the talisman, so proving samon right does nothing but hinder her. The only explanation i can think of is that she wanted to know whether she was 2 years behind herself? |

| i suppose but she seemed pretty determined to kill the tree of exodus no matter the cost, not sure it really makes sense for her to test it just because she was afraid |
