is this like a parallel story of white album or is somehow a continuation of the white album story?

They're not story related from what I've heard. I've only watched white album 2 and it seems to be a standalone story. "White album" is referenced as the main song the main character trio practices to perform together.

As many have said, there is absolutely no need to watch white album 1 before 2. They are completely different stories that just exist in the same universe. The only thing connecting the two is the music, and I believe a couple of small Easter eggs.
