What do you think of the post anime adapted parts of the manga?

The anime ends at Handa temporarily returning home in Tokyo before deciding to stay on the island. However, the manga continues further on. I have not read all of it but things do happen. Like Handa opening a calligraphy school and Naru and the other girls become his students. And Hiroshi leaves the island for Tokyo to become a professional chef. And Naru makes up with her dad who even gives her a cellphone to call him. Have not read most of it but what do you think of the post anime content? The anime is only moderately popular while the manga isn't the best known and does not seem to be printed all that much.
