So, Johan was groomed by the government to be a murder machine...?

On a side note:
Mr. Hartmann Motherf*cker got me fooled. I hope that abusive bastard gets what he deserves and the child relocated to a place who gives him love at the end of this arc...

So it's bad childhood that caused all of this?
Sometimes I don't believe every human can be called human, especially if they don't have humanity or love

I don't think the experiments made Johan a monster. I know they were carrying out all kinds of cruelty on children but in previous episode, we already saw his sister telling Tenma about their past that how he killed his uncle and aunty even before they were sent to orphanage. I think Johan was born to do this kind of things. To look down upon humanity. Just another sh*tless Pycho who thinks he's special and more than flesh and blood.

Poor Dieter, as soon as Tenma left he just clung to the wall. I'm kinda bummed that Tenma left before the narration of Kinderheim was over but hopefully this lady will go into detail now

Good episode. I like the fact that Johan led an uprising and that orphanage 47 stood against the corrupt government.

So, Johan was adopted by the family, means were they sadistic? Were they cruel, adopting a criminally treated child?

Also, when are we gonna get Johan back? It has been so long.

It is also cool how close their bond was. Johan and Nina/Anna for the win!

I guess we seen Dieter and possibly the orphanage from the op.

Without change,we end up becoming the very person we hate.

I was dead until the moment I met you. I was a powerless corpse pretending to be alive. Living without power, without the ability to change my course, was bound to lead me to a slow death.

the director really likes to use scenes of the characters feet coming to a halt. this indicates that they have come to a sort of conclusion or decision as to what they will do, a eurika moment if you will. i find it funny because it is done in a dramatic way lol.

I'm glad that this series is taking it's time to provide us valuable backround information regarding Johan. And the way it ties in with a sidestory is something I really enjoy.

The twins backstory is so confusing: they were first found near Checoslovaquia's border and then they wander around a few orphanages, at some point Liebhert adopts them, then... a few more orphanages?

I really liked that scenery from the opening were explained.

The greatness of Monster ladies and gentlemen soo much were in the EP the OST was amazing and now were getting close to the Kinderheim mystery. That old man was creepy first he talks philosophical stuff about children and then beats his own foster children.

That was a good one in giving some backstory of Johan and Ana. I wonder if Johan also killed those employees of that orphanage. That will not be a surprised anymore since he’s slowly proving his capabilities in manipulating and murder.

So, Johann and Anna were found near the Cech border, and then were put into an orphanage.
Johan went to Kinderheim 511, a fucked up Place were he obviously would not come out of as a sane person, and apparently he led a Revolution there. Can we trust what Hartmann said, though?
Anna went to a different, more humane orphanage, and as I understand Liebert adopted Johann, and he wanted him alone, but in the end decided to adopt his sister too, and so they were reunited.
But Johann was not the same anymore, and then things went down as we know.

Hartmann seems weird, he would give that speech and then acts as an abusive monster.
I guess he is right in what he says but he Is on the wrong side of things, that leads him to be an abusive son of a bitch.

It looks like he is still on the Soviet Socialism mentality, it still gives him fear.

If I was Tenma I would've shot that child beater kneecaps

Some big revelations regarding Johan and Anna's origins, definitely could explain why Johan having stayed at a terrible testing facility turned into such a psychopath compared to Anna.

Character background information.

I don't like how each episode so far doesn't explain where Tenma is or what he is doing (how did he contain the information at first). We were introduced to the thief in the last episode, and now this episode's time skips to whatever Tenma is doing.

That picture on the abandoned building kinda looks like Einsturzende Neubauten logo.

Poor Dieter... Luckily Tenma noticed the signs of abuse and got him to the hospital. Hopefuly he'll get into better home.

Those experiments in orphanges sounds very much like something that nazis would have done.

And turns out those twins
. The story keeps getting more and more interesting.

Oh my gosh, Tenma is being recognized everywhere he goes.

Johan could have been a subject of government experiments. It's so messed up that orphanages are constantly neglected by those who are supposed to support them.

Great, after seeing that trainer with his adoptive young daughter a few eps ago, I assumed this guy was the same, given how much he passionately preaches about taking care of children, oh boy it's far from the truth. This sick, old, bastard is a hypocrite, he beats the child he takes after and lies as though he did nothing wrong. He must definitely have worked in that former 511 orphanages.

On the other hand, the orphanage managed by that woman is a safe haven when compared to the 511. It's no wonder that Johan turned out to be the way he did, especially if he was experimented on.
