Unpopular Opinion: I preferred Haruhi's voice by Wendee Lee, and the dub in general

Wendee Lee who also voiced as Faye in Cowboy Bebop, and countless of other anime's since back in the 80's with Robotech! even voiced Scorpina in Power Rangers lol she is a legend in my book, and her voice of Haruhi was perfect.

Also if you compare the line of work between the two voice actresses (original Japanese), Wendee Lee wins that battle by a mile. So to these elite anime fans that prefer subs over dubs (been watching, and trading anime fansubs since 1995 btw), some of these dubbed voice actors have more experience in voice acting than the Japanese counterpart. Does that account for anything!? So she is no generic voice actress, but a true professional. Same goes for Crispin Freeman. Anyone agree on the Haruhi dub? lol

I watched the dub, its a really good dub... Kyon's constant monologuing for me flows better in your given language... In my opinion

Disclaimer: I haven't watched the sub but when rewatching it I will be, so I'll see then which one I prefer

Suguta tomokazu as kyon is singlehandedly the best performance I’ve ever seen, he is kyon and the monologues and straight man voice are perfect. I’m not sure if it’s because the script if different or I just cannot enjoy anime when I can hear everything being said and understand it but I think the dub isn’t even close however it’s subjective as hell to say it sucks or anything of the sort. Haruhi’s English voice is really annoying and nagato doesn’t sound like nagato

I did too, when I was new to anime and mostly watched dubs. But now Haruhi's English voice sounds like that of a middle-aged woman doing a terrible impression of a teenage girl, along with that typical, flat, cringy sing-song "English dub" voice acting and speech pattern that you can find in pretty much every dubbed anime. Compared to that, Aya Hirano's voice acting sounds much more natural.

I also prefer the English dub. Crispin Freeman is a delight to hear. Although I switch from dub to sub whenever I'm rewatching endless eight just to have a variety so I won't get bored.

I'm not sure if this opinion is that unpopular. Wendee Lee, Crispin Freeman and Johnny Yong Bosh are all delights to hear. Also, the cat is glorious in the dub.

I'm glad it's not that unpopular! again, it's not like these English voice actors in this are some kind of amateur's lol they have been doing this for ages, and perfected their craft!

She certainly a professional but at the end of the day she's not the voice of Haruhi rather a localized version, im sure the italian and french dubbers are also professional but they can never really be compared to the original either.
