This show is what I call junk food anime. The plot development is mediocre, the characters fundamentally do not progress nor act like real couples, and the animation in general do not support the scenes very well. Despite this, the mere fact that we're watching a couple smooch and hold hands is enough to get people aroused apparently. This was perhaps one of the 2-3 decent episodes.

Still, junk food is junk food, and junk food is bad.

I'm so sad that his anime is ended since it was one of the highlights this season.

Nasa-Kun really getting aggressive to show his love. I think that they ended it off pretty well at the summer festival. Wish it was longer but the OVA is coming out so ill be waiting.

Season 2, please?

Lot of Tsukasa telling things about having only one life, her being immune to diseases and injuries, etc. On learning these events occur way down the manga, obviously it's something the author is relentless on pointing out...

Another sweet episode where Nasa gets sick due to oblivious engagement in work, and wifey dedicating herself to his care. Rather lukewarm ending with the overused fireworks stuff.

A well earned 7/10

Actually it nearly got a 8, but repetitive events like Nasa's hornyness, ctrl+c ctrl+v smooches and Chitose's grumpiness fill up a lot of the storyline. Just 12 episodes also means lack of a well-rounded story presentation and side character development. Also episode 11 was significantly weak. My favorite parts were Tsukasa and father-in-law interaction, Nasa's dialogue with Chitose regarding the marriage, their first kiss at the church and that opening song . Animation, music and art were plain and there's not much to talk about regarding direction, because the source material itself does half of the job.

Hopefully a second season gets announced, so that I can read the manga along with it.

Yeah, I felt the same way, it was really close to getting a 8 from me, but the MC's horiness and side characters were kinda killed the vibe I had in the early second half of the anime. Nevertheless, I'm surprised that the couple and their interaction grew with me. So, likewise, 7/10.

Hopefully there’s more seasons to come. I loved the build of the relationship. I’m surprised they never sealed the deal but whatever, the story was great anyway. Taking it slow and enjoying the slice of married life! 🥰

This show was really good. I'm very happy that we got at least another high quality new show this year because aside from Dorohedoro, this year was dry as hell in that department imo. Light 8/10 or High 7/10, still deciding.

Not usually into romance animes but this one is pretty good, I might go read the manga because I'm somewhat interested to know about Tsukasa and why she was alive after she got hit by a truck

tho this story seems to be inspired by Kaguya-Hime story so there's probably will be tears by the end of the story

Ah yes, a typical festival episode with fireworks at the end. Outside of Nasa getting sick, nothing really happened in this episode. Overall this show was entertaining, but I'm still not buying into Nasa and Tsukasa's watered down version of a marriage especially since they barely know each other. They act more like high school boyfriend/girlfriend than husband and wife.

I'll watch the OVA, but I'll pass on a possible second season. I give this show a 6/10, if this series had some semblance of a plot or some type of indicator on Tsukasa's identity, I would have gave it a 7.

Man, Nasa-kun went from kissing her to kissing her neck, I honestly was sitting here thinking, IS HE GONNA DO IT??? Tsukasa stopped him though. I mean he was recovering from a cold after all.

Just simply wholesome.

Eventho it wasn't groundbreaking, this was a really enjoyable show. For me personally, the whole idea is raising eyebrows, married on first sight is not my cuppa tea, but I loved how Tonikawa explored it in the way they did.

Gonna miss this friday-evening-cuteness-overload! 8/10

Now let's hope that besides the OVA, that the second season won't be too far away.

Before I started watching Tonikawa, I had a feeling I would like it.
Then when I started it, I did end up enjoying it..

But didn't expect myself to like it this much!
Watching Tonikawa makes you wish you had a wife like Tsukasa, and highlights all the joy that a simple life could bring, as long as you have someone by your side.

Really looking forward to the OVA, and hopefully a S2 as well!

Those kisses needed more tongue, honestly. Horny Nasa would have gone all the way down if Tsukasa didn't stop him xD

Such a lovely (and spicy) way to conclude an overall heartwarming series. Tsukasa wanting to be a super nice wife while taking care of her sick Nasa was adorable to see and the last part featuring the cast at the fireworks festival followed by the heartfelt talk the lovely couple had at the shrine was simply beautiful. Perfect way to wrap things up for now.

Nice adaptation overall. It achieved its goal of being cute and wholesome quite well. Cast wasn't that impressive but Tsukasa and Nasa's interactions sure made up for that weak aspect. The chemistry they both shared throughout the series was fantastic and so endearing I couldn't help but smile or chuckle with every single one of their antics as married couple.

7/10 - An OVA was already announced but a second season announcement happening anytime soon would be quite welcome as well. Fingers crossed!

Cool last episode. Got our festival episode, and some nice blessed moments between the two. Didn't spot any references this time, at least from my point of view.

Interesting show in general. Don't often traverse the marriage life topic often, and seems somewhat refreshing to see an anime about it. Cool references, nice SOL themes, but I guess that was just about it. Wish it took a bigger step and went a bit more original, but that's okay.

And an OVA as a sequel, huh. Not sure why OVA and not simply a TV series, but I guess I can look forward to more of this later next year.

Great finale for this series.

It is clear that there is a lot more to this, but they could only cover so much in 12 episodes, and I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed all 12 of the episodes this series has so far.

Looking forward to a Season 2 and covering more of the story behind Tsukasa, who is clearly not just any old modern Japanese girl.

Solid 8/10 :)
Have a great day!

Ah what a good series man, I'm praying that we might be able to get a season 2. I really wonder what Tsukasa is, even with all the obvious foreshadowing. I might have to take up the manga now lol. Overall a 7/10.

Nasa was getting real psychical after he was all good from his sickness . . . When did he become a Chad lol. With The Day I Became God also airing as one of Fall 2020 seasonals, with the fireworks and everyone wearing the yukata's scene near the end, I instantly recalled one of the scenes in the opening for The Day I Became God lol.

A contender for AOTS (second place only to Jujutsu Kaisen), this anime was incredible and consistent from start to finish. The pacing and characterisation was on point, and there wasn't a single macro-flaw in sight. The romantic development seems very fit for a longer story, which is hard to come by in storylines like this. It looks like I'll definitely be reading the manga soon.

9/10

It was a "cute" anime without much realism anywhere. MC was naked many times in front of the bath house girl (as previous episodes showed) yet he is adamant against his wife seeing him. The series relied completely on syrupy plot devices....reluctant to kiss....reluctant to hold hands.....all the things that are cute on their own but sort of drove me crazy when piled into a series. Sorry....I got through one season but that is all for me.

Artwork was amazing at the fireworks.
Hated the blonde tsundere friend.
Liked Mom and Dad.
Annoyed that someone gave a HUGE plot development point from the manga in the Episode 9 Discussion thread....actually ruined a surprise that hasn't come out yet.

So.........6/10....and break out the Crayons and Color Me Gone.

This has been a fun ride from start to finish. For some reason I expected Tsukasa to disappear in the end, she was saying really odd things this episode, and in the whole show in general. I wonder if she really is Princess Kaguya, come on I need Season 2 now! Overall a fun and cute show, enjoyed every episode, 8/10 for me. Might read the manga.

Nasa trying so hard to launch a rocket this ep! XD

This series was fantastic. Not quite enough substance to be an AOTS contender but if I were grading on adorableness alone, it would be S+ tier. I was great to see a show about a realistic budding relationship. Most romance are just about getting together and they end at that point or soon after with a single kiss as the finale. This being about a new relationship and having kissing scenes here and there instead of just once at the end was a very welcome change of pace. I would love to see more of this.

The beauty of the marriage can be something so fluffy and wholesome like them. Even at their down matter, sickness, they've been supporting each others pretty well. Tsukasa-chan scolding Nasa was on point. He shouldn't be forced himself away like that, while in fact he had those damn cute wife. He really needed to took care of those thing for lessen Tsukasa-chan worriness. And damn, those kissing scenes were never failed to make me laugh hard. Its so wholesome that i never had a think for taking it to the lewdness routes. Its alright, take it slow, Nasa. You can get her, off screen, far away from the audience. Tsukasa-chan was just too shy to show off! XD

The summer cliche festival closed their sweetness. The shrine part was also on point. Stay healthy, stay wholesome, and be a cute couple, forever. Such a cutie pie pair, and everyone already accepted it without a doubt. Peace under a beautiful and nice fireworks act, closed this sadly last episode of Tonikawa .....

I really need more of this series. 12 episodes really not enough. However i shall be patience. Guess i just need to hop down to their manga to see whats goin on after that.

Yes like everyone else.. I agree it was a sweet romantic ending to the season but it never answered any of my questions

Who is she
How did she find him years later
What is her connection to the church
Is she a god and if so why did she save nasa in the beginning

I got more questions but you get my point

I’ll give the series a 9/10 for cuteness

Tonikaku Kawaii has come to an end and with that my weekly trigger of DIABETES! I love this show. Read the manga beforehand and I'm kinda worried how Seven Arcs of all studios were going to handle this, turns out I was not let down. They really did Tonikawa justice and brought the cute love story of Nasa and Tsukasa into light (or should I say TOO MUCH brightness).

The episode skipped so far in the manga in the chapter where Tsukasa treats Nasa as he got sick from overworking. I love the feeling of Tsukasa treating Nasa as he got sick with fever. The fanservice in the first half is really damn good, and the moment I've been waiting for. WHEN NASA SMOOCHES TSUKASA IN THE NECK AND WAS ABOUT TO DO IT WITH HER, but Tsukasa stopped him from going overboard (on her). It was really cute, you can see how they're really meant for each other.

And the second half is a SUMMER FESTIVAL. We got the usual moments in a summer festival scene. Our Main Couple eating takoyaki, Nasa playing around with the goldfishes and both of them praying in a shrine. It was about to be good but I was kinda thrown off by how fast they let Tsukasa speak in that shrine to Nasa. That should've been the "cherry on top" moment of the show...but I guess they let it sway normally. We close off in a firework scene where all of our cast stands atop of a hill, as Tsukasa and Nasa hold hands with their rings in place. Tadaima is the last line as we finally say goodbye from the first season.

It has been a very good show. Of all the romcoms I've watched, it was not THAT unique but it was certainly better against its peers. A romcom where the couple already married and spend their SoL days living together and sharing cute moments with each other. It doesn't help matter for my single life that Nasa is smart and a reliable husband and Tsukasa is the Fall 2020 version of Chizuru Ichinose and she is REALLY DAMN CUTE, so of course I love this show. When the ED played for the last time, I feel satisfied. It has been a very great Saturday, hopefully the second show is on the works along with the upcoming OVA (although I got to worry that it's not gonna be as good as the first), but hey gotta get when it counts.

That's it for ToniKawa, the 5th show to end this season. I love it, 9/10 is my rate and hopefully we see more manga chapters adapted into a lovely anime.
