They're not completely terrible, but they don't offer anything new over the series and have pretty ugly CGI and a fairly forgettable soundtrack. |

| The 3 movies and the old anime cover the same arc. The anime covers more stuff than the movies and has very good ost, but some of the critical scenes in the movie were better than the anime, also the cgi isn't as bad as it sounds btw. I think watch the movies then if you like it read the manga. |
| if you're fine with reading manga, you should definitely read it instead of watching them. i haven't seen the adaptations but i've heard only the 97 anime is good so if you want to watch it then watch it first then read it, i've seen the cgi stuff and i promise you don't want that experience. |
