| Could I watch this series standalone or is there something else I need to watch or read to get the story? I guess I'm asking if this is all self contained. |

| I watched it standalone and didn't have any problems. I'm currently watching Schwarzesmarken, which is also a Muv-Luv show, and I could probably use more of the light novel knowledge. By the way, in Total Eclipse, don't expect the first couple episodes to be representative of the rest of the show. Just sayin'. |

I'm on episode 4 and getting bored. |
