Heh, Haruka showing up at Akira's workplace.

Chihiro is back again with Kondou and I can't help but find their character chemistry to be entertaining to watch. I did like how Kondou reflects on some of his personal feelings. With just one more episode left, it makes me wonder how they plan to wrap up this show (most likely an open ending?)

I'm starting to miss this anime already...

I hope they make the ending good it it's going to be original. Otherwise, well...

Another mix of different chapters from a bit of everywhere tbh. Hard to see how they'll end this. Anything can happen.

Starts with chapter 53 (talk about Kurata, but doesn't appear), then shows part of chapter 48 (Tachibana giving her shift preference), chapter 57 (Kyan coming into the shop), chapter 49 (Kondou and Chihiro spending time toegther), 72 (When the little girl gives Tachibana the phone left behind) and goes back to chapter 48. The ending is original, I think.

Haruka really wants Akira to come back to the track team, otherwise she will feel left behind. Chihiro is back again and I love the way he acts with Kondou. They are fun to watch. With one more episode left, I wonder how this show is going to end.

And our swallow still unsure if she should start to run again or not, and she still play drama queen around her friends ...

I like the show at the beginning, but now it somehow become boring or rather "dull".

Haruka has a fine ass for sure

I would have liked to see Akira running after the person who left the phone.

Really wonder if they go anime original or not next week...

Kondou picked up a pen. Tachibana picked up her track shoes.

Everyone is so worried about Tachibana getting back into track, but she didn't seem that worried about it at all until Haruka confronted her. Same for Kondou, but he seemed sadder with how things were going in his life.

Chihiro reminds me of some art teachers and hipsters I've known. They despised commercialism. Honestly, I do, too—to an extent. They had a pretty nice talk, which may be the extra push Kondou needed to get his writing gears going.

I think this series marketed itself incorrectly. When I went into it, I was expecting a romantic love story between Kondo and Akira, but that's not really the case at all. Once I accepted the love story was about these two characters accepting to either pick their dream back up or let it go, I started enjoying it more. I was feeling that the episodes weren't moving quickly enough to reach the end goal of them becoming a couple at the end of the 12 episodes, but now that the show clearly isn't about that - I can really submerse myself in it. The discussion about writing and how you're scared to disappoint your past self really hit home for me. I really love this series

It's... it's going to be a full adaptation, right?... I don't like it at all.
I don't know what anime-only think but as a manga reader, I feel like things are way too rushed. For example Kurata didn't appear personally, so her running seemed less important and it was like "oh, ok, some girl might beat her one day". And they mixed some chapters together. I really, really don't like it. It takes away all of the story's depth. And, ESPECIALLY, characters' depth.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to see the next episode. I wonder what may happen.

I expected a cool love story from this anime but it's just angst on stuff that both Akira and Kondo gave up in the past and will probably take up again in the future.. So yeah...no cool love story to see here xD. Gonna watch the last ep if I came this far though.

Chihiro and Kondo's light novel conversation engaged me so greatly. Although I have seen similar talks in other anime, the way the talk is directed in dialogue was incredibly impactful. I very much look forward to watching the last episode.

Yeah... I get what you mean. Kurata, Kase, Nishida, Yoshizawa... They just didn't get enough focus in this series so far.

Yeah even tho its a Noitamina show, i don't see a complete adaptation or second season coming. It a "read the manga" kind of thing i guess . Also maybe to promote the live action film/tv series.

Both, Kondou and Akira seems to be really trying to get back to their past stuff but seems like its quite hard for them to do so. Kondou's Situation is understandable, I can relate to it. Akira's situation is actually more complex, we have to remember that she's a teenager and we all know how hard things are when you are going through puberty, Hell, I almost trashed my entire life because of that

By Drama queen you mean Haruka or Akira? either case, you have to remember they are still teenagers, its a common thing on their age to be like that.

Yeah after the cry-hug the akira x kondou plot kind of died. I wish it kept going, but I guess I'm content with the series. Intersted to see if the last episode will quench the thirst for at the very least another hug between kondou and akira, though.

Well our penultimate episode focuses primarily on Akira and track and Kondo and writing. And their friends' attempts at helping them return to them. We're starting to wrap things up, and it would appear as if this shift in focus was the true point all along. But let's see how we finish before anymore reflections.

The most emotional scenes were in episode 7. It's been down hill since then as the author could not directly address the conflict because of caution or conflicting story threads. I was afraid this would happen. If anyone wants to see how one addresses these issues head on, I would suggest you read Kore Wa Koe No Hanashi. It's a better, tighter plot with slightly worse art. The manga for KoiAme is even worse in resolving the underlying conflict. Being an older man myself, it was too painful to read as there is little to no redemption for Kondo. He essentially becomes an emotional tampon for Akira. One can only think the author has a grudge against middle-aged men. The feeling of being stuck, having options becoming closed, was too real for me so I had to drop it. I had been following the last couple of raws (I could read some Japanese) but saw where it was going. But the anime has good music and art, so it is not a total loss.

Haruka is to Akira what Chihiro is to Kondo. Haruka wants Akira to resume her track, and Chihiro wants Kondo to resume his novel.

Great use of rain as usual. Both Haruka and Akira are rained on this week.

One more ep and I'm not too sure how this will end. I'm thinking Akira will begin running again and Kondo will pick up his pen again, but will they each go their separate ways?

Still a decent episode, but this show has gone downhill quite a bit these last few weeks, and I find myself less and less motivated to watch it now. Still, I'll finish it off and see what kind of ending we get, as it's still a solid show and there's no point giving up now.

But the way things are going I can just think the end of the anime will be sourly.. =(

I know how different scenes are taken from different chapters in the manga. And I like how they did it. They picked the chapters so that the tv episode is coherent around one theme. In this episode, the theme is both Akira and Kondo were pushed by their friends to resume what they were good at doing. The scene where Akira submitted her schedule might be from a different chapter, but it fits in the episode's narrative.

Too bad that's going to end so soon 2-3 more episodes would have been so good but nope not any studio will give us that...

I don't really want Akira to forget about her dream and Kondo is thinking the same way since he still chases after it for so long.

Childhood friend or not Haruka looks more like a lesbian stalker than a girly girl. And oh shit she just visited her in her workplace ......so I'm guessing after Kondo hear form their conversation that would be the time he'll be firing her to focus on her school's track and field and not on him. And Chihiro is back, I'm starting to think he's a gay stalker to Kondo.

1. Will Akira start to run again? I don't think she must do it, because she is so happy right now, working. But she used to love running...
2. I wish the next episode will be romantic, I need it before the season ends...

Looks like the age-gap romance angle might have been a bait-and-switch considering the increased focus on Akira and Kondou confronting elements of their pasts and the series showing how both are confronting them. Still has me hooked on the series as it seems Kondou is at peace with things due to his life experience, while Akira is internally struggling about whether or not to return to running and the pressure is overwhelming to her hence wanting more work time to try running away from the issue. Final episode should be interesting enough to see where things go with Akira.

Haruka is frustrated with Akira, she believes in Akira but it seems like all Akira wants is to suck her tencho's 45-year-old dick.

She's such a bitch sometimes. I think she's gorgeous and yes, I know her bitchiness is part of her character, she's upset she can't run anymore and hiding behind her sadness and grief and yadda yadda yadda but she's still a bitch sometimes.

I love Chihiro, honestly, I could watch an entire series of just him and his own life more than Akira.

I want a second season that ditches Tachibana completely and just focuses on Kondou and Chihiro. I love those two so much. And the theme of older people not giving up on their dreams just seems more powerful and especially unique in the medium.

Also I love literature, so seeing a series focused on modern writers would be pretty dope.

Another solid episode. The romance front did not move forward. But it can be expected. This series is not really about romance. Rather, it was about living a life and not having regrets. If it was just about romance it would be pretty dull like how Kondo described himself. I hope the ending resembles the manga's ending.

My sentiments as well. I really think they missed a great opportunity to tell a heart warming story about 2 people become closer despite the social stigma, and help each other realize each other's dreams. But, no. Most likely, they'll go their separate ways, one returning to track and the other to writing, but no lasting connection between them, which only reinforces the stigma and stereotype about age gaps. And it's too bad, because the series did a good job of exploring the characters' pasts and the connecting emotions, but couldn't deliver an against the odds relationship between the 2 characters that I would be happy for and it would make sense why they would be together. Oh well, I'm just disappointed.

I would give this episode a 3/5. Not the best set up to the finale. I've read everyone's comment on here and many of you guys are saying that you don't really see how the anime is going to wrap up. I, for one, do see some light at the end of the tunnel--abeit, probably a less impactful meaningful one between the two leads than we expected/wanted.

Though disappointing that we haven't made progress in the Akira and Tendou relationship helping each other, I think that we still have one more chance in this last episode. The ending is still salvageable, yet I believe again, not as impactful as it could have been, even if they do bring those two together for the last one. I felt that there is too much of missed opportunities to close the gap between them for just the last 30 mins..

Poison of literature... interesting concept from Chihiro & pen droplet imagery. ED end with umbrella dripping a drop seems to echo that poison idea.
I like that symbolism with leaf spinning in place in a river where it should flow, like Akira's situation being unable to progress. But is it wrong to enjoy her status quo?
Chihiro's such a character lol, and he's so close to Kondo a new ship is possible.

The attention to detail and imagery is insane, to think Wit would even animate dust. I also love how they use colours and patterns to depict how thrilled characters are feeling without words.

What I also love is how they toned down in the romance, instead focussing on the characters and developing parallels between then. Truly an underrated series. It's a shame how people judged this series at face value.

I mean I've kind of realized this the whole time but I guess it all finally came together just now but both Akira and Kondo both had great passion for something at one point, but for one reason or another both lost the ability or the drive to do it, and while Kondo has been somewhat empty for a while, Akira met him at her most vulnerable and saw in him a nice and comforting place and so her love for him grew. Pretty much both are trying to fill holes in their lives with each other, more actually just Akira, but Kondo isn't really not doing it either lol

[DDY] subs are late!
Haruka is really persuading Akira to come back because there is someone who had a same situation and injury as to Akira who recovered and went back to track.
Tenchou & Chihiro had another serious adult talks a bit boring but it has a lot of values and wisdom.
Akira's really scary when she's mad!
I wonder who they'll wrap this-up or a possible S2!?

Still can't get myself to like Chihiro, he's annoying at best. I get that it's maybe intentional but the second part of this episode felt weak to me, it brought nothing to the table.

But I do wonder how this series ends, so far it seems it would be open-ended which I really don't like.
I hope at least his will to write and her will to run get resolved.

Not a bad episode, but didn't feel as strong as it could have been for the second last one. Kinda feel bad for both Haruka and Akira, obviously the former wants them to repair their relationship and Akira seems to still miss track but also doesn't want to join right back in either. The parallel with the customer who forgot their phone and how she didn't chase after him ... RIP. On the other hand, I liked seeing Kondou with Chihiro and it seems as though he's starting to pursue his love of writing again. They're acting pretty differently and seems as if everything just spilled over at the end ... dang lol. I wonder how they're going to end this show though, only one episode left so I can't imagine it's going to get that much resolution out with what happened here ...
