Does this show get better, or is it just overrated?

I watched first six episodes because of good rating here. Does show become good in later episodes? Or should I read the novel because anime butchers it up? So far anime consists mostly of bad parts.

First comedy is lame but not bad enough to be good. Like it was written by preschoolers for preschoolers as only preschoolers find it funny. Sad thing that it could easily be better, for example when Neo and Marie first meet based on their personalities they start making out. Until Shiro asks Neo: "Did you know that she is a guy?"

Also this show focuses on the weak parts, namely fights. I would need to drink a deaging potion to like its style: "WHO COULD YELL NAME OF ATTACK LOUDEST WINS."

RPG elements an idiot who tries to act smart, any experienced player notices elementary problems like that MC party composition sucks, it lacks DPS character and enchanter needs 6 player party from his description.
In druid girl rescue mission its strategy epic fail. He should plan spell/skill combination to escape instead of taking the unnecessary risk of a pointless fight.

Emmental plot doesn't help. Things like that show presents 'pvp is bad' without justification, repercussions and most importantly without reward for a killer. It only gives a weak reason: "Because I was bored."
Same with xp potions. No reason why this is bad, why new player couldn't just quit guild and premise. If game had there it would be backbone of the player economy as only thing that high lvl players want from low lvl ones to trade for gear.

I don't think the show ever changing from the beginning.. Maybe you are just not get used to it, but you already watched 6 episode, so maybe that is not the case.. If you find the anime is not for you, just drop it ...
Myself find it quite entertaining, I like how the story was flowing like water, no exaggrerate things ...

It is very overrated, it is not worth it, the handling referred to genres is terrible, but hey, I will not list the defects.

Well, the good part does come later, when all the big guilds start showing up.
But the narrating, the jokes, the twist won't really change much.
So... well, most likely if you don't enjoy it early, you won't enjoy it late either.

i fell victim to this con anime. just watch it bro. not gonna bother with s3. and when i thought this borefest aka log out horizon couldnt get anymore abhorrent than it already was, it simply did. gonna play some ff14 or osrs instead of this pretentious crap that didnt go anywhere with its shallow plot, characters, scenery etc. 0/10. it literally felt like watching a live stream of dsp and trust me, anyone would have more fun with that guy picking his nose barfing.

Taking in account that I've watched both seasons, I'll consider both and try not to spoil the show.
First of all, it's not overrated, assuming your not just "comparing" it with other animes that "you" thought were better, yet had lower ratings. Secondly, it does not get better through the course of the anime. If anything, after entering the second season, it only gets worse. So, there you have it.

Bro you really need to chill out. If you’re looking at this anime from a point of view of “ sao is my life and the greatest anime of all time”, I don’t think you’ll ever see how log horizon is really a good anime. Personally I’d give it a 7/10 because the seconds seasons animation wasn’t too great( pretty horrible at times) but otherwise the story was original and interesting if you stick by it

I just finished the anime today and to me it actually becomes better. At the beginning it really is lame and boring but at around ep 10 or maybe 11 it actually starts to get good
