The Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio anime has a very different storyline from the manga. The two are very similar up until Haruna and Kirishima meet Makie. After that, things start diverging.

But, the story that the manga is developing is very good and the writers are keeping a lot of their cards close. There are multiple groups of characters with their own agendas but as of now -- and I'm current on it -- I have only a slight idea where it may be going next. There rest is well concealed which makes it a compelling read.
