i have a weird question but i want to ask anyway

so in the first season they say the Academy class are :
first years have brown cloaks, second years have black cloaks, and third years have purple cloaks

but in the third season when Tiffania join the Academy she have purple cloak and she first year how is that possible ????

think it's something like she's an elf so she's more magically inclined/capable so she gets to skip, plus i can't remember if she use some spells before joining the school too.

no man she is not skiping class she is first year with purple cloak and i think all the first years have purple cloak

My guess is, that she enters the academy as a third year student, so that she can be together with the others. It's been a while since I watched ZnT.

I guess Tiffania joined the academy as a first year, and all students wearing purple cloaks are first years, too. These students are not as mature as others, I think.
After watching several school life anime, I noticed that when third year students in Japan graduated from school, the first years who have just attended school will wear the same uniforms as them. For example, after third years who wear yellow ties left school, the first years will wear yellow ties, too.
So I think it's just because a year has passed and the students with black cloaks became third years.
