| Angel Beats was seriously, seriously flawed; the pacing was off most of the time, it's too short for its own good, it introduced so many characters, that I can't even remember their names (and they did literally nothing other than being there) and the first two episodes especially are a complete and utter mess. With that said, I love it and it's one of about five shows I rewatch regularly. When it hits, there's really nothing like it. |

| There were many plotholes some of them could be filled with your own interpretations, it would've been better if they tried to explain some things properly though. The ending was rushed and backrounds of characters which I was interested in were left untouched, preferable it should've had 25 episodes or so,instead of 13. The potential for a masterpiece was there, unfortunately it wasn't used. Despite these minor complaints I still think it was a good show and I can see why many people love it. |

| I thought it was disappointing. It had a little bit of actual laugh out loud humor, which has been rare for me with anime until now, but aside from that the drama seemed completely stale to me. I didn't feel like I had any reason to care about the characters. I wouldn't even call the show average. |
| It has the honour of being the first ever anime I dropped, and that was after I suffered through ImoChou, Chuunibyou, KoiChoco and Princess Lover. Up until Angel Beats I had hoped anime was a medium that didn't yet have an assembly-line/ focus-testing problem like gaming does with Ubisoft/ Activision/ Rockstar etc., Hollywood has with literally everything (especially superhero garbage) and popular music about butts. Soulless shovelware is unavoidable in all mediums unfortunately. |

| Angel Beats is pretty great, if you ask me (as you always should). The show's biggest problem was with its plot, really--the focus should've stayed on Otonashi's quest for his memories and his ensuing quest to help as many people find contentment as possible. The stuff with the Kanade clones, the Student Council Vice President (aside from his excellent backstory), and the shadows was 100% unnecessary. And the plot hole at the end? The afterlife doesn't give a shit about time. Boom! Solved. |
