| Well prejudice and racism towards magicians is very prevalent in the series. As many in the anti-magician faction believe that Magicians get special treatment since their base salaries are much higher than the common people with no magic abilities. This is because magic is a powerful and important tool for the military, police force, medical field, etc so thus Magicians play a huge role in society and get higher compensation for it. Equality doesn't exist in Mahouka just as much as it doesn't exist in the real world. However, at a personal perspective, magic definitely doesn't define them as a person, its just one aspect of themselves and should be treated as such. Otherwise the strong will get grow arrogant and the weak will develop inferiority complexes, which is exactly how the wall between the course 1 and 2 students was created. |
