Yep. In fact, the Kizumonogatari movies resembles this artstyle,

I was taken aback when I started the movie, but halfway through it grew on me.

It was the usual Mamoru Hosoda ordeal mostly, but the Monogatari-like live action BGs really surprised me. Gave that sense of loneliness and "something is wrong" that fit perfectly with the fake cheerfulness of first half.

Yeah, there were few scenes in which I really thought Araragi was in there instead of luffy. Creepy but cool.

I feel like this art style makes the movie more cinematic. Strong World and others just look like long episodes but this has a real movie feeling to it. Best OP movie I’ve watched by far.
