In one of the scenes of the episode 4 of "Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei"(The second season of the series), You can see Pico and Chico in the background As you can see,the hiragana in the first image clearly says "ぴこ"(pico) and for the second image it says "ちこ"(chico). And also the hairstyle. It just to iconic. I didn't realize this at first until i watch the reaction video from @Teeaboo and he pointed that out.
