Expected something more from this, but it didn't really hit home with me. Looked good and sounded fine, but just didn't light the spark.

Not a bad ending tbh, though ended quite random it was still a decent ending! Would love to see a sequel or something as it's quite a nice concept tbh!

Still a nice short Anime 8/10

Overall this was a pretty random anime but still good. Don't think I've watched a show like this before.

Naota should just hook up with Ninamori, forget the older girls. But I guess that everything returned to normal after they both left.

Overall 7/10

This is the most random anime i've ever seen. Every scene something weird or unexpected happens!

Haruko is a cool character but we really dont learn enough about her to really get invested in her motives. One moment she's the antagonist and then the next she's the love of MC's life! It's all a bit muddy.

I was expecting a bigger payoff or reveal at the end for a show this epic, vut she just packs up and leaves, to do, something... And MC haven't even changed a whole lot by the end of it. What was the point of this anime exactly? Is there even one?

The music is very cool, the animation is quite gorgeous (manga scenes aside) and the action breathtaking. Though it's not the masterpiece that people hail it to be it is worth seeing. Maybe i'll like it better on rewatch but as it stands it's a 7.5/10 from me.

Man, the music was fucking great!!! Most random anime I've watched. At first I didn't understand what the hell was going on, but I sorta understand it now.

While I understood the more explicit references and developments to the show, I had to read some outside info to understand everything. It's actually very well presented and incredibly unique. I really liked this
-Nothing can stay unchanged. Even so, can you still keep on loving this place?

-Be still my soul; when change and tears are past, all safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

i think that the ending was wrapped up nicely. naota learned important lessons from both haruko and mamimi so now he can move on with his adolescence in peace.
I loved FLCL! The music, animation, and plot made me feel very warm and even if it was fast paced, all of the symbolism and metaphors behind it about coming of age made the show a pleasure to watch.

That was ok I guess... I expected a bit more from this series tbh. I laughed maybe once during the whole 6 episodes and was bored by the series half of the time. Still it is definitely unique and I admire the creators for trying something different.

5/10 seems appropriate

so does he still have no brain ? and stuff comes out of his head or did tht go along with the pirate king the shows is relativly grounded showing mamimi getting over naotas brother and noata getting over his childish crush on mamimi. tho i feel sry he got so used by haruko tho it shows him at the end growing up and that he got over it

It's funny coming to this topic once in a while. Reading what stupid (yes, putting it bluntly) people that don't understand this anime post makes me feel really neat! :DDDD
It's just that some people never experienced adolescence (as in, stay ignorant for the entirety of their lives), otherwise you could identify with this masterpiece so much more :)

Everything in this show is perfectly in sync. It's probably the epitome of coming-of-age genre, too bad you shitheads wouldn't notice brilliance if it hit you in the head. Rather watch another Naruto episode, that's the kind of character and setting you could maybe understand, lucky you it's made for toddlers >:3

What made me wonder at the end of the show is how random everything was and yet it all connected somewhere towards the end. What puzzles me though is the fact that had this anime been any longer, would it still have been a 'masterpiece'?
I for one, watched it even though i could mostly not understand anything that was happening because it had only 6 episodes. had the count been more i would have dropped it for sure. aesthetic appeal and fancy animation techniques can only make you watch an anime for so long.
having said that, i really enjoyed the music throughout the series but i still cannot decide if i would like to recommend this to anyone or not.

Well, if it were longer that would be totally contrary to how FLCL told it story: with layers and hints. So it's a null hypothetical.

Fucking amazing. I watched this all in one sitting on a whim last night, and i have no idea why more people don't talk about this. I have never seen a better show. Every single moment was overflowing with brilliance. Really made me consider dropping all of my 10's to 9's just to have this be above everything else I've ever watched, because it is. So many people say this is a hard show to follow, but i didn't really think so at all. Weird? Yes. Confusing? Not so much. A truly unique show about the confusion of adolescence, layered with constant symbolism. Amazing character development, fitting more into 6 episodes than pretty much any 2 season show I've seen. Great soundtrack, great action, funny as hell, extremely meaningful, and above all, just fun as fuck to watch. One day maybe I'll write an actual review for once, but for now I'll just say, If you rated this below an 8 or 9 you are missing something. A spectacular experience.

This was not my type of series, at all. It was all over the place and nothing made any sense. Not overly likable characters, and I don't know why people like the pink-haired chick. Maybe it was overhyped for me, but I didn't like it.

I wrote up a whole piece on what I think the series is about. Almost all of the characters and imagery connect in one way or another to the theme of growing up. It's a classic coming of age story just told in the most bizarre way possible. Naota think he needs to be like an adult but comes to realize that being true to his feelings and enjoying childhood is actually the more mature thing to do.

i love the ending it was beautiful ... naota finally realizing what his heart wants and saying goodbye to mamimi who was just confusing him. haruko always said the truth to naota and she like him back and the last part where the guitar string makes a sound i think it means she will be back for him and as haruko left she didn't say goodbye she said "save it for next time/ maybe next time " and naota in the end acting as himself as a kid whose grown up..

.i thought the part where he confess his love for haruko was epic it was honest and truthful and so cute and haruko blushers like hell and accept it wow i love this anime definitely watching again :3

Quite frankly, there were quite a few things I did not get at first, but after looking up some stuff, I really did appreciate this series for it's deeper meaning.

One funny/cool thing I learned was that the seaweed actually blocks N.O. signals, wasn't thinking about that at all.

Overall nice series and the classic story of maturity.

So Takkun dumped Mamimi? well it's her fault for calling out his bro's name when Takkun was the one there.

It's odd... normally this kind of ending would frustrate me but somehow... I was satisfied. Maybe because I didn't take show show seriously... and I was right in doing so because that's the key to enjoying this.

While I don't think it was amazing or anything it was still really good to be only 6 episodes and this episode is where I actually understood what the anime was truly about.

"Honestly... it kinda doesn't matter where I go... whether I'm alive or dead... I'm still pretty dandy."
