| The town here looks an awful lot like Craco, but I do have some doubts because of the time periods. Craco is an abandoned town in Italy that looks pretty much the same as the one depicted in the anime here, and also happens to be at the south part of Italy, and west from Brindisi, which is the city where Porphy arrives to from Greece. That said, Craco began to be evacuated in 1963 because of a landslide, and ironically enough, it became completely abandoned after an earthquake in 1980. Thing is, I believe the original book, which I haven't read, was written in 1957. |
