What's her goal after the rebellion?

Her wish is to protect Madoka, so she went through the rebellion in order to gain the power to fulfill her wish. What will happen in the long run? Human Madoka will eventually grow up and grow apart from Homura and griends, and then pass on after living a full life.

Homura and the rest of the magic girls can't grow old because their souls are already separated from their bodies. They are not human any more.

So what will she do 50~80 years from then? Will she simply end her universe takeover after human Madoka lives a full life?

Finished? No is not finished. It was planned to be the final of the story, but Shaft didn't wanted to give up so easy on the franchise... so we got the last 20 minutes of the movie. Those 20 minutes are there for a 4th movie...

Sorry, but I did my research. Gen WANTED the movie to finish on the happy note, but Shaft wanted a discomforting finish. The franchise is over.

No, it's not over yet.

You do realize that the article is most likely not referring to a direct sequel. If spin-offs are considered the same franchise, then there's a chance of something new coming. I'll agree with that.

Have you even seen that concept movie? It's trailer showing things that happen after 3rd movie. If that's not a sequel then I don't know what is.

Uh dude go watch the concept movie lmao. It literally has Homura and Madoka narrating it, explaining somethings that happened in the last movie and foreshadowing what's to come

@KingGilgamesh_
I never really took that last scene as Homura "killing herself." I always thought it was more symbolic.. It's a half-moon, there's an obvious contrast between light and dark. She obviously "fell to the dark side." Besides, Homura was never one to kill herself. Even when she almost shot herself in the head, she still fought directly afterwards given the opportunity.
