The ending felt somewhat underwhelming imo.

I mean, it just feels so casual although I have to say the dream presented in this chapter is quite something. What a journey this has been from the murders, coverage, schemes, involvement, and everything.

Rating this at least 7/10.
I might go back to re-read some chapters but overall was quite satisfying.

I can relate to the part where you're crying for redemption in your dream.

Odd little experience this was. Don't think it's a bad retelling of the novel. But the hammy and melodramatic parts really bring it down. Plus the whole thing stalls around chapter 60. The manga really should've ended earlier.

Still, this was a worthwhile read. I don't regret it one bit.

What a beautiful take on the original novel, every page was breathtaking, from the art, dialog to the overall presentation. It's been a while since I was so taken away by a manga like I was with this one (even tho I rate most of my stuff 10, series like this are the ones that stay with you forever). In my opinion if was perfect in length, no page bored me at all. Some people might be bothered by the ending, and how he end up with a prostitute who was pretty much a used goods as Sudou calls her as some point. But that's how its in the original novel as well, I think that's the beauty of it, they're both broken, them getting together at start was not even love, but it was great how they developed. I think in this case the manga author could have made an exception from the original and went with a nice epilogue after he server his sentence, so we see him unite with his girl, her kids, his sister, friends, the prosecutor guy etc. But it is what it is, in the end this manga truly is a heart breaking masterpiece.

Also for people who already haven't, read the original novel as well please (I mean if your teacher didn't request you to read this in high school, in what kinda high school did you go my man lol).

i honestly thought that we would get a time skip with him finally reunited with her, but this wasn't so bad. i knew his sister would end up with his friend, and that was really nice for me. it was really great to see how he developed as a character and how he redeemed himself. some lines really hit me hard. i'll remember those.
i finished this in one sitting and haven't slept yet. haven't done that in a while, but i really enjoyed this. though, i thought he'd be committing more crimes, and i would have definitely liked that.
anyway, i enjoyed reading this. i started this not even knowing that it was based on a novel.

Excellent manga. Deserved an anime.
I just wanted to know what it would be to know more details of miroku's sentence as it was with Raskolnikov and that msotrasse eichika visiting him in prison like Sonia.

This manga was very promising at the beginning, but because i am sensitive person just reading how cute girls are just whoring themselves and doing porn was so much disgusting i ended up reading this shit. Like wtf. I know that Echika Ameya was raped by that scumbag she liked and after that those fucks, but like continue to fuck with others to make money for his *beloved* kids, was just so fuckin crappy. Nah don't have nerves for this. Even though i like psychological manga, seeing something like this was big turn down for me... Shame

This manga is DEFINITELY not for sensitive people. This has a lot of dark themes that I don't think a lot of people can stomach. For the most part I enjoyed it. Like most people say, the ending was a bit underwhelming. However, for a story like this, I think it was the perfect ending. The mc seemed to never get a break and because of this it really screwed up his moral compass. But after meeting Echika, he was able to finally regain that small sense of humanity he needed to confess. The reason why I liked the ending is because after going through all that pain of facing the consequences of his actions alone, he finally finds a bit of piece after finally being put to justice. Overall: great story, loved the art style, and this will definitely stick with me for a while.

I mean it wasn´t perfect it was expected that he´d confess and land in jail for what he had done. Anyways 100/10 would cry again

I think Mr. Goi is the real MVP here. I didn’t expect him to talk and persuade Miroku but I really like the conversation between them it such a waste that Miroku didn't meet him earlier and instead of being astray. As for Echika, she went through a lot but selling her own body is not really recommended especially if she got children to take care of. At least Yoshino ended up with Miroki's friend but I feel bad for their mother. I kind of expected that either Sudo will get killed, he will kill himself.

Anyway, I enjoyed reading this although this is not an easy read. I felt quite miserable while reading this but I'm satisfied about how the ending turned out.

This is definitively one of my favorite manga along with Oyasumi Punpun.
At first, I was skeptical, however after reading the 20 first chapters I loved it.
I thought it was just a mass murderer who'd just try hiding his sin but it is far more than that, the author explores human's mind and shows us our greatest weakness which Miroku didn't want to acknowledge: our humanity.

the conversations with mr. goi and miroku were best part of the manga for me

he wanted to kill his mom but couldn't do it but in the end he caused her death :/

Retelling a old classic is always like this. 9/10. Very underappreciated
