Interesting episode. Most of it centered around a drug that would return you to your past, at least in your mind. Is it any wonder that so many Japanese were addicted? I thought it was a great premise for this show. And Karen's mom **sniff**

But what was up with the cutely outfits? Although I have to admit, it was funny seeing Lelouch tied up and being forced to wear a costume and make-up... lol.

Yeah, pretty good episode. I was surprised when Kallen's mother turned out to be the maid she was so rude too. A bit silly that she didn't realize the reason for why Kallen's mother stayed at their home. Especially how she was on good terms with her mother before and knew of her kindness (assuming from the way her mother was talking when she was under the influence of "Refrain"), she couldn't put it together that maybe her mother survived all the hardship for her sake.

I wonder if Kallen will be able to put two and two together and realize who Lelouch is. She has the most hints so far.

Looking forward to how Viletta's investigation goes. I wonder what would happen if she came face to face with Lelouch once again.

The new OP scenes are very nice.

good to see new OP scenes... liked 'em

this episode went from funny to serious to kind of... touching

karen is really cute, if i were lelouch, i would have at least made a move on her... then again, this is not a totally romance show... so i guess i will bear with that...
the neko-outfits were funny... and suzaku crying was also funny... another good episode

maybe lulu's plan is to gain support of the people through these methods before going on their "true" path. like if you have supporters backing you up, you are more successful, right? take musolini and hitler for example, they came to power through support of the people in their countries through a time of crisis and they thought that their cause is true, which isnt.

i guess zero's group does not really understand what he is doing and they are just acting like local heroes instead of doing the "big stuff" but i think karen is gratefull that she went against her doubts and saved her mother and realized how much her mum loves her

It's Zero they're talking about. They still didn't know the capabilities of Zero at that time. But yeah, Zero is saving the world from Britannians and making them pawn for his own plant, that is to make a world suitable for Nunnally. PEACE and NO Discrimination + FREEDOM!

That was really good, it was very sad where Karen/Kallen smashed into the room and there were loads of people reliving their memories through the drug.

Very emotional too, and even managed to include the cool mech fight :) this series keeps getting better.

Very sad and emotional episode. I mainly like the episodes where they're focusing rather on the characters than on the action more. Luckily those are quite common in Code Geass. Karen is an interesting character and I loved to see her emotional reuinion with her mother.

Now we know part of why Kallen feels the way she does. I still don't like her, but now I understand her a bit more (Twenty years in jail for possession of drugs? That's a bit much!) And it was good to see that bit of self questioning in such a strong woman. It makes her a little human.
It was really a heartbreaking scene, seeing all those people in the room high on Refrain. Not unlike a shooting gallery...glad that the Black Knights got involved in destroying the shipment.
Also liked the parts where the characters waxed philosophical about whether to assimulate or fight (Lelouch put on a good act there and he sure earned that slap in the face!), and whether the Black Knights were being self-righteous or not. Which goes to prove that even in an anime, are no simple answers to complex questions. It got me to thinking, which is always good.

Amazing episode. From the very beginning I've been curious about Karen/Kallen (the subtitles I'm watching say Karen...). So it was nice having an episode focused on her.

I also loved Lelouch's conversation with both Suzaku and Kallen about the way they think that things should be done. It was nice.

The last part was really emotional. Seeing all of those people reliving the past was just... Well, words are failing a bit.

I truly enjoyed this episode.

Really emotional, so sad to see so many Japanese using the Refrain drug. I love Kallen, she's one of my favourite characters and her back story was so sad. I hope her mother recovers because she deserves it, and I hope Kallen rekindles her relationship with her mother.

How could Kallen not understand that the reason her mother stayed as a maid was because she wanted to stay close to her daughter?

We get to see more about the situation of the war, like how the Japanese live and are bullied, as well as the drugs that are aimed at them, which is also backed up by the police...how disgusting. Also, I liked the conversation between Lulu and Suzaķu, their opinions really differ. I have a feeling that Suzaķu is the preachy type, because I don't see how he will be able to change the system from within when he is being discriminated against despite being an honorary soldier or whatever it's called.
