It doesn't need a reboot, next question.

No, FLCL was pure shit. I dropped after 3rd episode, so boring

I prefer to see new anime similar to Kill la Kill and Gurren Lagann

I'd prefer a sequel, but I'm certainly not complaining.
You all need to watch Nami.

I wonder if the new version will ever beat the old. Still, I might give it a try.

If there's is more to it ... maybe.
But the remake is really not necessary.

What about you is so high and mighty that makes you the determiner of what is anime or isn't? Lmao. "Half assed story" the entire point of FLCL is that is doesn't try to hit the same beats as other anime. It did what it wanted, played by its own rules, and was better because of that. Considering the vast landscape that is anime, there is definitely a ton of room for anime like FLCL to exist. Give me a hundred anime with traditional character development and a coherent plot, I'd still take FLCL over 90% of those because most don't have the balls to be original or different.

I found a friend.

Anyhow, I honestly don't see a need for a remake. How would you feel if they remade the original Ghost in the Shell? It feels unnecessary.

I'm... not sure.

FLCL is my favorite anime, but the idea of a remake is unnecessary, and I'm usually not a person to bitch about remakes or reboots. The show to this day holds up phenomenally well, and animation-wise is better than a lot of anime today. Not to mention that FLCL is it's own unique thing, and I don't know what they could possibly do with it. The only thing I can think of is an anime film. I feel as though a 12 episode TV series would be too long, let alone 24 eps, than again I felt that six episode was the perfect length for FLCL.

I'll probably watch it, but I don't see a need for a remake.

A remake doesn't really seem very necessary. In my opinion the visuals hold up nicely and it fits fine into six episodes so a remake with twelve episodes would possibly devalue the original for some fans.

I've heard plenty of criticisms of FLCL, but "boring" is a first on me.

Remaking it without Trigger feels wrong.

Trigger is fucking broke though, the only way they would be able to fund this would be from backing from Gainax in some crazy way.

A remake doesn't even make any sense, nothing was dated or poorly executed about it.

The only thing missing are the loose ends, and since this will be a remake these will remain untied.

Nope, FLCL is perfect as it is. I wouldn't mind a spin-off though.

I'm pretty sure it already got a remake in 2008...

So remaking has been adopted in anime now?

Why remakes exist in the first place, I have no idea. Something's already great, the remake cannot top it. If it's already bad, the remake cannot make people forget about the bad one, no matter how good it is.

why would theyremake anabsolute masterpiece that beats almost everything coming out today in terms of animation, music, art, script, direction, character development and story progression?

I see no point in it. Remake Ashita no Joe instead

Of course, if they do I am gonna watch the shit out of it

I'd watch it too, but I'd rather it be different rather than a shot-for-shot remake.

Hollywood is in America...

The studio that co-produced it will be the ones that are working on it, so I think they have the potential to do it justice. I'd like to see it expanded farther. As long as the pillows are doing the OST i'm in.

Why does FLCL need a remake? Is not that old, and the animation is fine as it is :/

Well, that's a remake I never heard of, and frankly, don't care to watch.
Pretty much how I feel about FLCL. This came onto my radar through happenstance.

Though a continuation focused on Haruko as opposed to Naota could be interesting, I doubt something like that would go over well as a series.

Just watched one episode. I found it a bit depressing even though it was supposed to be funny. I'm not interested in the remake. Other than the music and the animation it sucked for me.

I'll watch it, but I don't think a modern remake will be able to really capture the core of what makes FLCL what it is. I'm all for any remakes for anything, it's not like it's changing the original, it'll still be around. More anime is a good thing. All in all don't have particularly high expectations if they do remake it, but hey I could be pleasantly surprised.

Not interested. If I wanted to watch a 12 episode (which it will be because TV anime schedules & all that) version of FLCL, I'd watch Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi again. Actually, I might just do that. If anyone can pull it off, it will be I.G., I guess. But I have little faith & frankly don't see the point of doing it except to milk nostalgia.

Are you seriously comparing FLCL and Abenobashi? Except that both are coming-of-age stories they have nothing in common. And to answer the question: a remake is unnecessary.

Let them do one, if it's good, it's more of FLCL to watch and if it's bad, they just made the original even better in comparison.
