does this get better? I just watched the 1st 2 episodes about the town getting destroyed. The war parts just don't look entertaining and the MC is like semi stupid.

For what its worth, I've never seen it, but since its apparently based on a video game it probably sucks ass.

Whelp, the game is a masterpiece I'd say, as long as you like this sort of stuff (action-strategy with turn based system). I've spent around 46-47 hours maxing it and I dont regret a single minute spent on it

The characters (be it main or side) are interesting, the world is nice...the setting also isnt that bad

But what was IMO terrible was the...well...story. It was all like "Oh my, war there, war here so lets go and make a picnic" and too much "Love here, love there". But it also had its good moments.

And so, because the story was like it was, I'm too afraid to watch it because I feel like the "romance'n'love'n'feels'n'picnic" part will be too hard to handle

Short answer: yes, it gets better. The story is good and it's more than "love and picnic". Stop rating a show a like this after two episodes, when the story barely began. Plus Welkin is far from being stupid. A bit carefree, yes, but not stupid.
