Yuki..;_;

Decent episode. We get more lighthearted moments and unlike some of the previous, the skies seems to have cleared a bit. Cute bonding between her and Asakura though imo. I find the part where they were eating to be adorable.

Same with when she ate ice cream with Kyon

Finally end of test and to old book sales. Yuki still trying to get used to Yuki-chan's life in summer vacation with the accompany of the friends.

Yuki's final day coming. She was able to finish the book and confess before leaving. Yuki-chan is back.

ED is still Yuki ver. because most of ep. is Yuki. ED will probably back to Yuki-chan next ep.

He won't. On the contrary I would say it would distance him from Yuki-chan since I doubt he'll be forgetting Yuki so soon...

Yuki's last phone call sounds to me (and I'm sure to Kyon, too) as if she were on the verge of death and telling her last will, the first and the last confession of love unrequited before repentance comes too late... Or possibly, she was able to confess in time. I don't know which is possible to be.

But... I know she had known it would be impossible for her go to the firework festival along with them as Nagato. *Sigh*

I've loved these past 3, more serious episodes. The BGM was really good and created an awesome atmosphere. Goodbye better Yuki!

Also... looks like we're gonna get some Haruhi story next ep.

The ED was slightly different, but honestly made it more beautiful to listen to. ^_^

Actually, the entire soundtrack for the episode was fantastic. It really gave the scenes a bigger impact on an emotional scale, especially with Kyon's phone call to Yuki as she started to "disappear".

Next week, Haruhi will appear for the first time in a while, but if I remember correctly, there's still one more important scene with Yuki before the "Disappearance" arc wraps up fully.

Some really nice shots in this episode and the OST was just fantastic.
Now with that arc wrapped up I wonder what they'll cover in the next 3 episodes, I don't want it to end so soon.

I'm impressed. The whole "Disappearance" arc, especially this episode, was more emotional and dramatic than it was in the manga. Good job.

Agree with this. The music in this episode was really something.

Now, I wonder where they're going to end the anime. Next episode

The original Nagato told Kyon her feelings to him and now she is gone.

The current Nagato is back!

Im going to miss quite Nagata :/
I know it wouldnt really fit the feel of the show, but it would be awesome if Nagato could just have a split personality permanently, like they would randomly switch places.

That was the most stunning episode by far. That phone call picked me up out of my seat. And DAT ED.

Could be AOTS depending on how everything ends, but this is a strong contender for EOTS in my book.

And with that ends my whole reason for watching this show.

I really hope they're able to take something away from these past three episodes because I'll be nothing but disappoint if the series goes back to the way it was and culminates with the summer festival or something like that. :P

And we reach the end of the disapearence arc. It as a whole was very good. And this is the first time I pay attention to the baackground music and it was great.

This would be the best way to end this season IMO.

Does anyone know how well the japanese have been receiving this anime? Maybe if it's sucessful there's still chance for the main series?

Why did the other Nagato have to return?!?! I prefer the "no regrets", bookworm Yuki better! She has more bold and interesting than the shy gamer Yuki.

Looks like Nagato is hitting that game console again, good bye Nagato "Books" Yuki. At least she left with no regrets, having told her feelings to Kyon.

If this were soccer.

Books Nagato: 9
Gamer Nagato: 1

The various piano pieces made the episode very sad yet pleasant, in a sense that Nagato showed her feelings. I would have left a sour taste if Books Nagato left with no confession.

Anyone care for another spinoff? One with Asakura?
The girl has some great facial expressions.

Well, they actually made me care... for other (original series) Nagato. This episode really nailed it. One episode, they really did great.

But from now on, I dunno... cause I couldn't care less for clumsy Nagato. I really hope she'll come back... somehow. Else this series is doomed as far as I care.

So that's the end of the Disappearance arc, and what a good arc it was. It would have probably been acceptable to end things here, but there's still 3 eps to go. I wonder what's going to happen in the final three episodes.

Nagato, I won't forgive your suicide like this. You changed the world, the entire world, everything, so you could be a real person. So you could be happy with Kyon. But it isn't you that's with him. It's pointless if you don't remember. Please, Nagato. Remember. Then you can have your happily ever after.

But until then, when I see her wearing your face, I will feel only sorrow and loss.

I really liked this episode, with it being the culmination of the past 3. My fave thing about this whole franchise is that in between the zaniness, cuteness and humour, there are some really strong, mature themes. I think they did a great job in conveying the existential crisis that Yuki faces, with her whole being, well, no longer being. I really sympathised with her and the idea that she had her last day ever. That is some scary stuff.

Anyway, loved it, I hope the series doesn't go back to being bland and generic like the majority of it has been.

Just my speculation (I haven't read the manga), but, I guess the new common-girl Nagato will gradually remember an unknown girl to her coincidently had Nagato's body and memory for some days and was disappeared already. And then, what the girl saw, listened, felt, and in particular herconfession to Kyon would affect the present Nagato's personality to some extent. Possibly, she would had some strange dreams about when she wasn't herself.
Possibly, she would remember something when she goes to the firework festival with friends, I suppose.

The only connections between this series and The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya are character personalities and positions. That being said, I think we can all agree that this series wouldn't exist if it weren't for the movie.

There is one more thing. Choice of music. In the Disappearance of Haruhi it's Erik Satie and here we have his close friend Claude Debussy and a bit of Maurice Ravel. Seems it's also a cause that moods in this episodes have something common.
