Let me tell you something.
When I saw the PV I was also disgusted at the idea of a whole anime in CGI and I almost didn't want to try waching it.
But after seeing the first episode of the anime, and now the movie, I can assure you that the CGI fits like a glove the story. The movie is amazing; the action scenes are really dynamic and fluid while the story is thrilling and the characters are all very interesting, even if they will continue to develope in the sequels. Oh and the OST is remarkable, like the theme song.

No it doesn't. Only the mecha action scenes in Sidonia look good.

sidonia characters looks very weird kinda fishy/slimy, i don't know how to explain it but they look kind of creepy but most of that is the authors fault, i read the manga and some other of his mangas and in all of them they look like fish.

but i think this art style suits dark, bloody, voilent animes very good.
