DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Bakugou analyzing Deku and Todoroki's moves was nice to see :3 Analogies to video games too XD I'm liking this guy more and more :P DAT PUNCH!!! In the guts!! Based Deku!! >.< If Deku didn't hold back Todoroki could've died though lol I can't say BASED DEKU enough!! GODDAMN! Bending his broken thumb with his mouth with strength enough to rip his cheek, to use the thumb for an attack again O_O DEKU HYPE TRAIN COMING THROUGH!! What a BEST DAD Endeavor is XD Hitting his 5 y/o son XD Poor Todoroki crying in his mom's lap then overhearing her talking about his left body which led to her throwing the boiling water on his face. DAMN what a bitch :( and after she told him to not tie himself to them :/ His siblings seem to be having lots of fun too. Poor kid ;_; Gotta love Deku preaching Todoroki to use his fire and the fact it's not his dad's but his. Even though that will end up getting Deku OWNED ^^; The page Todoroki released his flames was BA EPIC!! Dat Endeavor doe! His grin was just something else XD He's one happy daddy :P Deku and Todoroki's faces in the last page were filled with complex emotions. WTH are u gonna do Deku??? Friggin hype!! I'm sure he won't go out without a fight. He's too Based for that shit >.< This series definitely has one of my fav cast ever and it's only on chp~40 :O The monster trio --Deku, Todoroki and Bakugou--- are all so damn likable!! |

| That was incredible. It was really nice seeing the backstory of Todoroki, but man. Endeavor is a PIECE OF SHIT. No wonder Todoroki turned out the way he is. I still think that Izuku will win, although I believe his reason to fight Todoroki, was to help him accept who he is, he is barely standing. Can't wait for the next chapter. |
| It was a great chapter indeed, but I wanted Shouto to realise he needs his power later and on his own. Anyway, I'm fine with this too. Now I wonder how he will react when Endeavour comes telling him his shit about beating All Might, I can see Todoroki attacking his father. Also I bet he will visit his mother in the hospital/graveyard and having some emotional moment. Well, we all know Deku is pretty much screwed as I'm sure Todoroki has nearly infinity "mana" now that he can balance his body temperature. | Just started reading the manga recently and damn this chapter really stood out to me. Todoroki is really starting to grow on me and I'm glad he is using his fire side now. Epic chapter! |

| Of everything I've seen in the series, Todoroki vs. Deku is the high point and only one other yet to come moment even comes close for me. The episode version is stronger since the anime staff went all out but it's still powerful in the manga. I love the decision to save the chapter title, Todoroki Origin, until the very end of the chapter, after he's finally decided to use his fire since it flips the meaning of the phrase. Like, if placed at the beginning, it might've just felt like it was conveying the fact that this chapter delves deeper into backstory, but really, placing it at the end makes the double meaning all the more apparent, it's the start of his new perspective, of finally beginning to accept that other side of him. I love the little touches like that. I love Todoroki's characterization and arc in the Sports Festival, I like seeing more of Bakugo's analytical side peer out, I love the touches with Deku's power like using flinging his thumb off his mouth flap to use the power since he can't use it anymore, and I love that Deku's going this far just to save Todoroki. Deku is heroism personified, and it's maybe no more apparent than here where he's sacrificing so much just to save his friend from his personal torment. |
