((A sneak peak at Cain’s theme song~))

It was early in the morning, work had been cancelled. According to the captain of the small ship they had arrived on the shore of Suna. It was about time, it had only taken them several days. That was long, too long for the impatient Cain, who had grown bored of his homeland. If one could call it that. He wasn’t leaving Kiri solely because of that but on the wise words of his captain, who had advised that he got away from all the drama he had found himself in. The pain of losing a friend is hard for even the most experienced of Shinobi, never mind a young one. He had hunted down several of the bandits already, with each one falling at his hands. None had the information he needed.

Standing by the edge of the ship the dark haired Cain looked down towards the cascading waves, his blue eyes rivalling the most vibrant of all oceans. His clothes were rich, smart looking clothes made from only the finest materials. The black cloak on his back kept him warm from the harsh weather in the Kiri, while in Suna it would help shield him from the sand. The dark color though, that might come back to haunt the young Cain. Black colors and the sun rarely got along well. He did wear a white shirt though, so maybe that would help him when it came to walking in the sun. Cain also knew that the weather changed at night as it became bitterly cold. Coming to an abrupt stop Cain cast his eyes to the rushing workers as they fixed the sails on the ship, each one of them had their own tasks as they scurried around like small rats. He had paid good money for the safe journey. It was a one way trip with getting back home being left to his own devices.

“If you head north from here you should reach the nearest town before dark. Further ahead and you will reach Suna, although I have no idea why you, a Kiri Shinobi would want to go there. Good luck anyway brat!” The large butch man was the captain, he was a friendly man. His scraggy looking beard and well worn clothes gave him the look of a pirate missing his hat, not that he acted like one. He was the gentle giant of the ship, as well as the captain. Both respected and loved by his crew.

“Thanks old man and tell her I will be back soon!” The laughing Cain spun face first into a sandstorm having said his farewells to the captain and his crew, the sand tasting rather unpleasant. North seemed rather simple. He only had to walk straight ahead; he needn’t worry about getting lost in the storm, right?

Cain was mainly grateful for arriving on a ‘cooler’ day with the sun still bearing down on him, the heat being worse than he had anticipated. The powerful storm wasn’t helping either with the small pellets of sand being razors, out for blood by the look and feel of it as well. His black cloak had held up well under the intense storm, with only the minor parts of his body weeping blood. His hands had found refuge in the sleeves and pockets of his cloak, the heat though, that was a different matter. The dark color being a magnet for the rays of the sun, he had been turned into an oven.

Sitting down in one of the many dunes of the desert Cain looked up towards the sky. He was behind schedule it seemed a little, or the clouds had blocked out the sun. The slight drop in temperature was all Cain needed. He could breathe once again. His flask of water was about half full with the small village or whatever still being a way ahead, he couldn’t be a gluttonous pig and swallow it all. Refuge from the sandstorm was nice but he couldn’t wait it out in the dune much longer, if he did then night would come and he would be faced with a different problem.

Placing the flask away Cain had pushed himself back up onto his feet, ready to continue his journey into the sand. So far he hadn’t run into any Shinobi or he hadn’t seen them anyway. So was lucky, he didn’t want to run into trouble, and probably should have hidden his headband. Then again his clan mark as well as the mark of the water country happened to be on his clothes, so he couldn’t hide it anyway. “Go to the sand she said. It will be a nice break for you she said. Yeah because eating sand is so fucking good!” Cain swung his foot at one of the loose lumps of sand swatting it away. He needed to take his aggression out on something. He had started to think that this was more of a punishment rather than a break. He hadn’t done anything that bad, though. Sure he had destroyed a few walls or homes but it was for the greater good, and to be fair that dog had started it all in the first place. It was the one chewing everything, so why should Cain take all the blame, it wasn’t fair.

Looking ahead into the storm he couldn’t see within a few feet of him, never mind this town or whatever it was of people. Heading north in a sandstorm was harder than he had predicted and night fall would be upon him. Had he fallen behind or was the town close? Cain didn’t know, he could only trudge on forward head first into the storm.
