According to Wikipedia, it had overall sales of 660,000 in January 2014. Well, this is just the first volome so nothing is sure, but I'm willing to bet that there's some truth in that. Then again, it did get a considerable boost in Japan as well. I remember it selling like 25k in its first week before the anime. The last volume released sold 135k in its first week. France is the biggest market but US is second though. Do you know how well it doesin France? I can't find it in any chart so its probably not as popular there. |

Well. An early released Naruto volume in France sells about 133k in a year (in 2008, it's now like 90k), while it sells 28k in a year in the US. I would say France is bigger than US by a lot, it's also a lot more diverse, and it's regarded as the second biggest manga market after Japan, from what I read. There have been reports that manga sales were in decline but that was before Attack on Titan popularity iirc. |
