A/Z S2 UEF Kat Technology Speculation

From the videos released, we get glimpses of the UEF Kat space type.

My first thoughts seeing those large weapon was Railgun!
I will be very happy if they chose railgun over combustion type ammunition, or god forbid the beam rifles.

The jetpack looks nicely bulky; clearly says its a military industrial hardware and won't be winning any beauty contest soon.

Also on closer inspection, the railgun-like big rifle seemed to also be a lance-type weapon for close combat.

Not using recoilless rifles in space is a waste of propellant.

There's recoilless rifles?
If you mean beam rifles they're impractical. Lugging a trailer sized battery is a worse waste of propellant.

Sure there are recoiless rifles.

A beam rifle isn't recoilless unless it fires massless or virtually massless particles. I mean I guess you could make a neutrino beam rifle, but.....

Beam weapons by the U.E. Forces will most likely be experimental and mounted on large spaceships (a lá VOTOMS), unless they somehow managed to overcome the limits of inability to use Aldnoah or somehow managed to replicate it.

But yeah, railguns are still dope.

Yeah, that would work well too.

Beam rifle without recoil, I'd imagine either laser or gamma beam. Both have working real prototypes. Agreed, laser as they are might be better mounted on large ships or installation.
