Hmm, the finale's adaptation is underwhelming, especially in the last couple of minutes. It's like they want to replicate Fairy Dance's "hurry up, let's go together to the future" ending, except this one is AO. Yuuki's final scene is just like in the novel: not as impactful as it could have been since in the end they make it sound like "it's just a game" (I know it's not exactly like that, but that's the vibe), then quickly overshadowed by the sci-fi stuff, which I don't mind but is out of place in this case.

On a slightly unrelated note, I like Suguha's RL design the most but her in-game design the least.

7.5/10 for the whole season (6 for GGO, 9 for MR, Caliber doesn't exist). It's been a fun ride.

Progressive/Alicization adaptations when!?

As predicted the ending was meh-bad i didn't get really attached to yuuki so her death was meh feels forced at least season 1 had that great start season 2 was at start bad later mediocre the animation was good once again the music was great even more stand out song then first season overall great sound track.Enjoyment was not so good i found myself alt-tabing quite a bit through these 24 eps. if there will be a season 3 i hope they will focus more on animating fight scenes then emotional scenes because they leave to much stuff out to really care.

6/10 probably never rewatching didn't leave any strong impressions

Actually never ended up finishing Accel World even though I really need to. I started watching it when it was airing but just kinda fell out of it.

Anyhow, seeing as Log Horizon has two seasons and so does SAO, I think it could be nice to bring out a season two of Accel World for the fans of season one. It would make some interesting competition between the three haha.

Sunrise has no plans for a second season, and no other studio is willing to take on the project. So you can say AW is dead for now, hopefully an adaption deserving for the series will happen eventually.

I feel that SAO should continue first, then stop before the final season and then let Accel World run until it needs to. The best way to connect the two, and I'm hoping for future volumes of AW to confirm supposed speculations relating to SAO. But that won't happen since studios aren't that keen in that much cooperation.

Anyone know what Volume did the anime end on the LN?
I'm planning to read it at one point before the year ends.
Also how many volumes are currently out?

Though I think that the show wasn't particularly good overall, mostly thanks to the incredible boring GGO arc, I enjoyed the Mother's Rosario part of it. I guess they could've done it a lot better if they just left out Darth Vader Death Gun and focused on the Sleeping Knights all along. Asuna and Yuuki's relationship would've been way more understandable and less forced if they would've had an entire season to develop it.

15 Volumes are out so far. GGO=Volume 5-6, Caliber= Side story from Volume 8, and MR is Volume 7.

RIP Yuuki. At least, not all Sleeping Knights going to die.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

Anime ends volume 7, there are 15 volumes of the main story currently out, but I would say 22ish in total if you count the web novels. There are also 3 Progressive volumes retelling the Aincrad arc floor by floor and 1 volume of Squad Jam where we have completely new characters in GGO. Not to mention the myriad upon myriad of sidestories not published in volumes.

You have to start reading at 9, and its on volume 15 right now but it will take 4 or 5 volumes more to end the series so its still at least 2 years to reach it

If an anime watcher is going to start reading the SAO light novels, they should start from the very beginning instead of skipping to Alicization. The anime just skips way too much and omits an unbelievable amount of information.

There wasn't a cliffhanger after season 1 so why would you expect one after this season. They have content to animate and I'm sure it will come in due time because of the obvious reason...everyone apparently loves SAO.

I personally found this show to be not very entertaining since the first arc. It isn't painful to watch but it's not very engaging either. The actual virtual world content is very bland the majority of the time. However, I suppose that is what this show is about. Not so much about action but about interaction between virtual and real world. I'm just not a big fan on the story that they are telling.

To each their own. Mother's Rosario was a sentimental arc but nothing more. GGO really wasn't as good as the hype train made it into. The Caliber arc was very mediocre. This warrants about a 6/10.

As someone else said previously I would much rather see another season of Accel World then the inevitable season 3 of SAO.

GGO 8/10
Caliber 6/10
MR 9/10

If the second season only had GGO I would rate it 9/10 but the second half wasn't that good (at least for me) but I have to admit that the last episode was nice. Anyway for me it's a 6/10 because of the weaker half.

I think I might not watch a possible third season :o

I have to confess I actually liked Yuuki's character and this last arc. Sure, it was still tainted with Kawahara Reki's absolutely awful writing, but it was not choke-full of it and it had some genuinely nice moments. I'm honestly surprised. Elevated the show to a 4/10.

The series isn't about action though. I thought GGO had the perfect mix of everything and even showed the true meaning of how VR can impact someone. Which the true focus of SAO is what VR can do to people, and the world. MR arc showcased how VR was important for other reasons besides video games. Caliber showed us how advanced AI is getting in the VR world.

Oh, but its kinda different, LN is from Kirito's POV, you can read his thoughts and feelings, there are a bunch of things that were skipped also

In my opinion, one shouldn't derive enjoyment from seeing what's next, but the actual plot itself and how well it develops. Else I wouldn't be watching most anime since I know what'll happen.

Plus, reading SAO will give you a new experience since the anime portrayed SAO objectively. The novels are told in Kirito's POV while diving also into his psyche and how he changes as a person as time goes on.

yeah, I know that and I absolutely agree with you about the VR, the good sides of it and the bad ones.
I would simply like it to have a bit more fighting (like GGO or first season), nothing else. After all I do like the anime :)

Beautiful ending. The animation when Asuna and Yuuki were lying on the ground was amazing.

To think about that, it was such a long journey from the first episode back to first season... EPIC journey.

P.S Yuuki, you will never be forgotten.

10/10 from me, for sure.

Why so much hate 0o ?

I think it's mostly because they rushed the ending of the arc just to insert an anime-original scene that played no major importance instead of teasing us for the next arc.

At least that's the reason for most rational watchers.

i found that picnic a very good closure to this season. They pretty much summarized arcs with Kirito's speech...
