Are there any big differences between the anime and manga? Which one is better?

Not really, but there is a minor change. In the advanced episode there is a somewhat big filler. I think you should watch the anime and then read the manga, but if you hate fillers, go read the manga only :D

I have fully read 3 Manga series and watched the anime as well.

For Karin, I prefer the managa, as with Love Hina. But for Rozen Maiden. I actually prefered the anime series.

I suppose it is just like books and films. :)

I read the manga first and am currently finishing up the Marmalade Boy anime now (though I've seen the "movie" and obviously know what happens ending-wise). I like both equally, but I think the manga might be easier to get into since it's only 8 volumes versus 76 episodes (plus the half-hour movie)... Although since the Marmalade Boy anime and manga are out of print (damnit Tokyopop...though now *they're* gone), you can always read or watch them online.

To me the manga is way better, the fillers killed the anime.
50 episodes would have been the ideal.
