According to the MAL rankings as of this post, the F/sn prologue has only a little over half the members of the F/sn series. Take out the plan to watchers, and episode 0 still is short of over 10000 members.

Granted, many sites put episode 0 in the same entry as the TV series, and some even list it as episode 1, further adding to the confusion. What's most likely happening is that people who think they just started F/sn actually only finished this special.

While MAL's decision to separate the prologue from the series is controversial, it does have reasons; after all, wouldn't there be more confusion when viewers finish "episode 8" and put "finished episode 9" on their lists? MAL has made it clear that their is a separate entry for episode 0, as they put a special text blurb in the synopsis of the TV series redirecting members to the correct page.

I respect MAL's decision, and most people including myself added this entry to our lists without any issues. However, it is apparent that many others either still do not know of this separate entry or blatantly ignore it because they disagree with the existence of it.

I mean, unless everyone's just skipping episode 0 and going straight for episode 1, people watched this, right? The F/sn prologue is quite essential to the rest of the TV series, so it's not likely 10000 people who are watching the F/sn series chose not to check out the prologue.

It's the more logic conclusion.

Some people saw there was an episode 0, but assumed it was just a trailer and decided not to watch it because trailers spoil.

Well, I told the people who thought that and started with episode 1. They rewatched it and were glad not to miss too much, since these episodes complement each other. Of course they didn't think it was just an "extra" anymore after having watched the Prologue.

Actually, I imagine that most people actually did watch it, since the vast majority of viewing sites have it as part of the same entry as the main series, but they did not add it on MAL because they don't know it's considered separately here.

It's not like people NEED to add this to their lists, most of the people following the series probably watched it but didn't know a new entry was made or simply don't want to add this entry.

I get that, what I don't understand is that it's pretty obvious that there is a separate entry, yet many users fail to add it on. MAL put this entry's link in the synopsis of the whole series, and even if anime streaming sites list this as episode 1 instead of 0, there would still be one extra episode, leading people to realize that there is a separate entry for this. In addition, it clearly says in the episode that it was a prologue: episode 0. All that sounds like more than enough evidence to suggest that they should put this on their lists.
