Akane- one of the worst characters ever

I mean there are so many strong and competent female characters in anime these days(Steins Gate, Shinsekai Yori, Ghost in the Shell, Claymore, Ergo Proxy etc.)
that someone like Akane just sticks out

She is annoying, whiny, naive useless basically its Kougami who does everything
Its almost as if the writers only have her to to ask the questions the viewers are asking (whats this whats that)

She does get better character development as time does go by though
