| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- There's a lot of real life scenes this episode and apparently features Asuna and her mother Kyouko Quite a cold person though but with all this bulidup, I sure hope Asuna can fight. Kirito is her support I guess although her mother doesn't seem to approve... I spot jealousy from the other girls this episode. Pretty typical. Anyways, the fight has already begun and it doesn't look like that Yuuki girl is a pushover. She seems to need help with something too. |

| Awkward dinner time. Her mother deciding everything (school and the person she should be with) for her and not approving what she chose. The opponent is a she? Aoi-chan's character's turn. After serious duel, she realized Zekken and Yuuki girl got her as the candidate for a help. |

| As I guessed last week,hey chad OP ain to transition into this story arc. So far the adaptation is near perfect, the fight scene looked beyond brilliant(I can't wait for secondaries to whine on how "Asuna is weak because she lost" lol, despite EVERYONE loosing). THey really managed to portray Asuna's "real life" correctly in terms of atmosphere. Loved how her dialogue with her mother was pretty much silent and devoid of any stronger OST for most of part, with ambiance taking priority. Yuuki's voice was surprising but fitting. 5/5 |

| Asuna's mother and father forcing their beliefs on to Asuna :/ Finding a good job with and being rich is "happiness". Asuna's image of Yuuki xD I believed in her imagery of Zekken! The duel was pretty awesome, with Asuna trying her best yet still lost to the 11 combo sword skill! Still, she really put up a good fight. I thought Yuuki was going to teach it to Asuna or something, it did raise a flag but why didn't it raise for Kirito? Pretty interesting to see such a strong fighter! |

| The OP is awesome now :3 Amazing ep. The depiction of Asuna's suffering in RL from her mom was perfect. I just hate parents like that <_< Asuna vs Yuuki was really awesome! The art in some parts wasn't the best but the animation was brilliant! Esp after Asuna got serious! Kirito standing like a Boss every time the wind blows was lol XD Yuuki's voice is pretty cute :3 She's using Diane's voice can't wait for more to come. Props A-1. On a roll u have been :D Dat Yuuki smile was so sweet <3 :*) And Dat ED still gives me the FEELZ T^T |

| OP changed even more so that it matches this arc. Asuna's hot, but too bad her mother is a dick. Asuna is trapped, with Kirito being her only hope for reality. Lol, harem problems. Oh my, Zekken's a girl. Hopefully she doesn't join the harem. So we have Asuna vs Yuuki. Oh no, first hit landed on Asuna's boobs. (T_T) Great fight. Asuna's the Chosen One. She must now help Yuuki and her friends. |

He went as seriously as he can when his life is not threatened. Even if he fought at his full, the implication is that he would STILL have lost. Asuna on other hand fought as if her life was on the line(hence that deathstare moment). Because for her this world is far more real and friendly than the cold reality. |

| Asuna's mom sure has some family issues. I feel bad for Asuna for that. Zekken, or should I say Yuuki, showed some pretty awesome sword skills. Asuna was pretty great also. It seems that Yuuki is recruiting warriors of strong fighting skills as well as strong fighting spirit. The action was splendid. Looking forward for the next episode. |

| Asuna's mom is a worthless person. Saying that studying with her friends in the virtual world is bad. First of all, if one studies in a group then they can elaborate answers, how they go to them, and they can quiz each other. While attending a school that her mother chose isn't bad, it is Asuna's choice to decide on what she wants to do with her life. The interaction among them seemed so real. I don't think she knows that Kirito wants to make a new full dive system or something around there. That's something worth making, it can bring lots of money if sales are high. Eventually, Kirito will become rich and then Asuna can say she married a rich, successful person. I also noticed Asuna's room is quite cold. I wonder why. The fight scene was pretty good. Zekken was stunned for a bit since Asuna used the Quadruple Pain skill, but as well all know, Zekken is still too much for anyone to handle. Kirito was also surprised for a bit. Now, Zekken asks for Asuna's help after the match. |

| That was a great episode. I wonder why her room was so cold ? I am also surprised that Yuuki's OSS didn't completely take all of Asuna's life. Seemed very badass just to not win almost instantly lol. Honestly I could see where her mom comes from. I know money and success does not always equal happiness but sadly in our world it's almost true. Happiness is what you make it obviously for the most part. Forcing her to marry and attend college is wrong but asking for her to transfer for a better education I could agree on. When Asuna made the remark to her mother about how she was born into a lower class family was pretty awesome. Her mother must of had one miserable life. I liked how in the middle of the fight she remembered that she is powerless in that world but this world she is not. |

I'm glad that Asuna called her out in the end...Serves her right Overall this is a pretty good episode and I'm starting to see why this arc is loved so much. The real opening cinematic was very good too (LN readers weren't kidding when they said this will focus on Asuna only lol) Her battle with Zekken met my expectations and I enjoyed it a lot. I still don't have any clue as to who she is but going by the opening, maybe she is some long lost childhood friend? |

I had thought that Asuna's mother's family, while not rich, still came from a high ranking Kyoto family and that her mother wanting Asuna to live up to their competitiveness (the three guys from last episode I recall being her cousins, not suitors). I'll have to go back and recheck that, always bothersome when you remember something different. Not really. Her father is the rich one. IF she did not marry into the money, her mother would have shitty life and the status would not matter. Since she has wealth to pull around she can flash her status too. |

| Asuna's mom is a pure bitch. It's good that she has Kirito by her side. As a anime watcher I'm assuming that this is the arc that makes her stronger has a individual. Very good episode 5/5 |

| Judging from the opening i would say that this arc is about Asuna and Zekken which unfortunately means less screen time for Kirito :( Or I am tottaly wrong and those characters in the opening were just different accounts that the main group use (Kirito, Silica, etc) at least I hope But even if it's not I love Asuna so it doesn't matter |

| Great episode. omg. I love the new OP song, Glad they changed it to fit the arc more, It was perfect. Yuuki's smile was <3 wonderful. More Asuna is good, We got to know more about her, and her real life circumstances. The fight was amazing, The OST was also great. Very good episode 5/5 |
| This episode reminded me that Asuna was vice captain of the strongest Guild... Hope this arc makes up for Calibur... cuz that was kinda boring.. Never realized this, maybe its cuz im slow, but in terms of hate, MAL has more of that for this series than other websites such as crunchyroll, and animeplanet combined.... |

| Best arc so far, hands down, this is really awesome. Asuna finally getting some action! I'm happy that maybe we will know more about Asuna's family, I feel like they didn't show that much about it. |
