Loved the scene with Aoi getting phone call from home, her parents were so proud, super heart-warming! I wish mine were proud of me just like this, one day...

And seiyuu's job also looks really tough, god. I can imagine being just as nervous as Zuka in front of all this people!

Best episode yet. I relate quite a bit to Aoi's statement about herself on the train.

I've admittedly had trouble keeping up with the huge anime production staff in the previous episodes, so a kind-of break from all that and spending more time with the main four girls was nice.

The anime Shizuka auditioned for had her as the "big sister" of a harem with...eleven girls? Jesus Christ, Japan.

It's nice to see an anime where the cute girls are also old enough to drink. Though I think Aoi getting tipsy might have caused the production of Exodus to get off-balance again...

Glad to see a bit about their life outside of work as well. Seems like she got one day off and things went south already though.

Wasn't that entertaining nor interesting to watch, but it was much needed for the show to have a break from the hectic experience that was the previous episodes with its deadlines, delays and late directorial switches. Plus it's getting to see a bit more of the supporting cast too that was a part of the Animation Club along with Aoi and Ema too and just seeing them enjoy themselves after meeting each other after quite some time felt a bit reminiscent of me and my friend (who both lived in the UAE but moved to the same university in Canada) meet up with my other friends who lived in a different part of Canada to just hang out and reminisce on each other's lives and how far we've come while enjoying the nostalgia too.

One character who feels out of place for me in this show though is Tarou. I don't know if its an inside joke that P.A Works has an employee like this so they integrate it here, but he definitely would be fired or on the chopping block with most companies given his incompetency + his attitude rubs me the wrong way too so far.

Zuka-chan is the best.

I think in the back of my mind, I knew of how cutthroat and competitive VA work was, but my goodness, this show just hurts to watch.

In fact, the entirety of the anime production and distribution industry hurts to really, really look into. I've spent a lot of time reading up on personal stories and experiences, but watching it play out, even in an anime, really puts those testimonies into context. This is an industry run on love and passion, but that can't solve physical and emotional health conditions.

On the side, Shirobako has given me the closest feelings to Hanasaku Iroha and Bakuman simultaneously. I love a story about working adults trying to survive, and I love calm slice of life stories with a backdrop of the drama of daily life. I'm really liking Shirobako so far.

It seems that production matters behind the scenes are more difficult than we expect. I knew about animation and graphics, but SEO is also very difficult.
