[/size]“Do you want to die?” The soft voice penetrated through the darkness that had wrapped itself around the body of Nazo, on the outside his body was reacting badly to the wounds he had received; however in this world his body barely moved an inch. It couldn’t move for it had already been consumed by the darkness of his soul. “I will ask you again...do you want to die, Nazo?” The reoccurring voice had asked the same question repeatedly for longer than Nazo could remember. At first he thought it could have been an echo of his soul, something that would torment him until he was completely erased, but that wasn’t possible. The question had changed over the last few times. How long had he been laying there listening to the same voice over and over, it felt like an eternity but surely only hours had passed or less...or was it days. He didn’t know and didn’t care... “No...” He barely mustered the strength to part his lips never mind speak but he finally had built up the courage once more to believe. His eyes forced themselves open which took the last remaining strength he had conserved, not that he could see anything. He tried to move his body but didn’t know if he was actually moving or not with the feeling of numbness from neck down hardly helping, but he was alive. “I didn’t hear you boy...speak up!” The slightly raised tone had come in response to his weakness, oh how the girl seemed to hate such weakness in his voice. He couldn’t see her face or even her body but he could feel her rage being directed towards him, it was as though she was chastising him for failing. “I...said...no!” The blood ran from his mouth before it fell into the darkness that had gathered to devour him whole. He could feel the cold hands of death protruding from the darkness, which would have sent shivers down his spine if he had one that was. Instead his eyes could only react as they retreated deeper into his skull as that was the only thing he could do to create some distance between him and death, with his mind telling his feet to run with all their might and yet he couldn’t outrun the darkness. He couldn’t even run without feet or walk...it was futile but he couldn’t stop wanting to escape from it all. After all his struggling Nazo found himself able to claw his way from the darkness with his hands having reappeared before his eyes, they were covered in blood and throbbed with pain but they still worked. Pulling his body away from the darkness with all his might, Nazo could feel the warmness returning to his lower body along with all the pain that had subsided early, but more than anything, Nazo felt relieved. His body was still alive and while it might not have worked it meant that he could still survive in this world, and reach his goal. “Sister...” The mumbling words flowed out meekly along with the blood running from his lips as the droplets sent ripples through the darkness, with his ears twitching to the sound of water. It was below him and yet to his hands it had felt as solid as the earth of which you usually walk upon, but it sounded and looked to be water when his blood reached it. It wasn’t until a few moments had passed that Nazo realized he could see more of the world before his eyes. Until now he couldn’t even see the ground below him but now he could see the ground and more, with mountain like shapes appearing in the distance. They would have looked beautiful if it wasn’t for their dark color. The world around him was impossible. Still Nazo could only push on as he clawed his way towards the land before his eyes, even if it would take him days or months he didn’t care, as long as he would reach it one day. “Where are you going, boy?” The mocking girl giggled off in the distance somewhere while her voice sounded soft with a hint of death hidden under the surface. She was the evil in this world or the death of the decaying world all around him. “I am leaving...” Nazo would have liked to have sounded more fearsome but that was hard to do when one couldn’t even see the person mocking them. Her voice gave him hope of survival while her sinister giggling dashed his hopes all at the same time. His body groaned as he became elevated with his feet leaving the floor along with the rest of his body, as his arms and legs being stretched out away from his body, with his eyes finally seeing the face of his terror. The young dazzling woman looked to be no older than he was; with her dark hair flowing down to her knees as she used it to hide most of her body, but her curves despite being hidden still tried their best to be seen by his eyes. “Leaving? So soon when you are so weak...don’t make me laugh.” Her sick smile had crept on her beautiful delicate face, while her red eyes pierced through the soul of Nazo or what was remaining of it at least. The more this girl looked at him with her red eyes the more Nazo writhed, with his hands wrapping around the chains placed upon his body as they held him up. They were imbedded into him in numerous places and yet he felt no pain. The chains disappeared off into the distance with them being in the hundreds if not more, while Nazo felt no pain it still angered him at being stuck in limbo. “Do you know these chains are pieces of your soul? Pieces you have forgotten about...now if you wish to survive then I suggest you remember the part needed.” Angered and worried at his lack of strength the young girl ran her hand down over his outstretched arm feeling the blood dance along her finger tips, while her mask momentarily slipped allowing a concerned look to appear before her cold outlook returned seconds later. |
