Good to know they didn't kiss (Kou and Yuuri), i wasn't rdy to receive such bad news xD because i want a "Futou" (Futaba + Kou) weird name :S.

I'm sry about what happened to Kou's mom. That part when they almost kiss was so kawaii :33 but WHY DID HE HAVE TO APPEAR i don't understand, the creator of the anime want to play with our minds and feelings :CC.

Lol Kou always makes the best faces.

Well anyways, they executed the reveal a lot better than I expected. I especially like how the scene between Tanaka-sensei and Futaba was handled. That really hit the mark for me. I feel like I understand the relationship between Kou and his brother a lot better here than I ever did in the manga. Tanaka-sensei was actually maybe the emotional highlight of the episode for me; the way he conveyed his feelings of fear and guilt really got through to me. I'm just glad that we've finally gotten around to having the central part of Kou's backstory revealed. It felt like we had gone way too long before reaching it, and now Futaba can really break through to him now that she knows why he is the way he is now.

As for the rest of the episode, the conversation between Futaba and Yuuri at the end was overly-hammy to me, but I appreciate how honestly the characters talk it out between each other in this series in contrast to the typical two-friends-like-the-same-guy scenarios in shoujo series. Also, I flipped out at that scene in the kitchen between Kou and Futaba. Even though I was mostly sure that something wasn't going to happen here because of my knowledge of the manga, a piece of me was still somehow hoping for something to happen, haha.

I really like where the anime adaptation is going now. At this rate, I'm not terribly worried about the ending, since I have a pretty strong feeling about where in the story they'll probably end on, granted that they don't go with an anime original ending.

Nice backstory to Kou's past but kinda wish they elaborated more on it. Good rooftop scene between Futaba and Yuuri. Both of them admit their jealous feelings of each other, but ended up reconciling.

If there's a second season there will be more elaborations on his back story, trust me, they get really into it. Whole chapters are dedicated to it in the manga.

Also, this is probably my favorite episode so far in the anime. It really really got me, like, I was on the verge of tears at the end. Man.

For those of you wanting a second season, of course that's fine, it'd be awesome if this anime becomes really popular, but, and I know how some of you may feel when I say this, I advise you to read the manga. I always get irritated when people tell me to do so, but the manga is absolutely wonderful as well. You won't regret checking it out after the anime ends.

Also...

An overall fantastic episode. And I don't know if anyone else thought this way, but when Kou said "I'll think about it" at the end, and then the screen faded, it was probably what got me the most in the whole episode. Kou, who is broken and sad, is being pestered by his friends as they urgently try to bring him back up from the dead, and then it's as if he wasn't saying "I'll think about it" to the idea of studying, but to the proposition of letting them whisk him away. He's think maybe he should start caring. That's what I feel those words meant.

Btw, I'm happy Kou's past was finally revealed. I've been waiting for this. It explains everything.

Man, they really don't drag anything out in this series, do they? I keep expecting them to drag out all the misunderstandings, but the characters...actually talk to one another! What the hell? Am I watching a shoujo here?

The characters express their feelings, clear up misunderstandings, and act like real people. Kind of refreshing.

I'd be willing to give odds that there will be a second season at least depending on how long the manga continues, since its sales are doing fine. The adaptation has been handled so well thus far I'm quite confident that they'll find a good way to give us a season's end in two weeks, hopefully with the announcement of a green-lighted second season either at the end of the final episode or shortly thereafter. But I'm an optimist...I watch shoujo romance...

And yes, this episode was chock full of feels...

Well good thing that Futaba didn't go full yandere or something and killed them both XD.

Futaba being so curious/scared of what might have happened and reading that book with pedo-bear in it was really funny lol.

What a lame excuse there Futaba...

I was freaking sure that his mother died and that Yuuri saw her shrine... damn I'm detective quality after all B|

Awwww, Futaba's crying now T.T

Tanaka-sensei... worst timing ever...

He goes to his job when it's night outside... so he's a butler or an escort right? XD

So we got to see more of their past and what had happened back then.

Ohooo, now that's quite the reason why Yuuri didn't tell Futaba about Kou's mother.

Awwww, dem feelings, those cries and dat hug :3 T.T

Kou's expression in class... priceless...

I agree, this is by far my favorite episode. I think it's because the reason for the sadness is different. Instead of the sad feelings being about romance, it was something much more darker, and realistic. death. It felt much more genuine to me. It was so mature.

The car scene was executed perfectly in my opinion. You can tell that kou's brother has some guilt from not being able to be there for this mother due to his career. To make things worse, Kou doesn't also lose his mother - but also had to see her in such a fragile state in the time leading up to her death, as Kou's brother says "And he had to feel things like that every day, all by himself." A horrific double-punch of sadness.

Then it wraps up with Tanaka trying to make Futaba feel better by saying that Kou is a good kid, but you can see the tears in both their eyes as they try to cover up their feelings. It didn't even really end on a positive note. It's like they were just trying to accept how horrible the situation was. And maybe that's all they can do.

11/10 episode.

I lol'd when Tanaka came in during Kou and Futaba's moment. Kou finally noticed that his actions have been quite embarrassing. Yuuri and Futaba cleared things out between them. There have been many tearful moments in this. In the end, it was all worth it.

I was lamenting the way they were going to end things if they followed the manga to a T since the second episode. I posted valid reasons for why it would be difficult to include the character that many are asking about this episode, and I stick by them.

As such, I seriously doubt that the manga is popular enough to garner a second season, and even if it did, it would be difficult to conclude the next two arcs in 12 episodes anyway(specially at the current pace that they have this one on), but I can't see them ending a season 2 without showing the entirety of those two arcs either.

The way I see it, because of the skipped scenes, they're probably going to go with an anime original ending, something similar to Isshukan Friends (since that one was ongoing when the anime ended as well). I figure they're just going to end things and make some plea to the anime viewers to go read the manga instead (I can see Soredemo Sekai did pretty much the same thing). The only way they would ever push for a second season would be to end this anime on an open-ending, but I just don't see it happening. If you ask me, two episodes is plenty to close things off and throw the two of them together.

MAN those surprised faces they make all the time are hilarious xD still cannot decide which one I liked better between Kou's and Futaba's when his brother walked in or his brother's face when he realized what he walked into :D was already laughing so hard at their faces that his brother's caught me totally off guard.

Well a little bit disappointing why Yuuri was so quiet. Really thought it had more to do with their relationship. It was so dramatic at the end of the last episode.

Cool episode though. Is it just me or are they drastically increasing the amount of weird facial expressions? Can't really remember they were reacting so dramatically this much earlier.

I only wish the art was a little more on-model. It was looking a bit derpy again this week. Hopefully they'll be back on track for the last two episodes.

As a manga reader, I am personally hoping the anime will end with chapter 14 of the manga
rather than doing an anime original ending. This would leave open the possibility of future episodes (not that I'm expecting them ...), but I also think it's a good stopping point if this is all we're gonna get.

On that note, I understand if they leave out certain things for the sake of not introducing new storylines, but I do kind of hope we get the

This for me is the best episode so far! *SOBS* Also even though I read the manga I almost cried again.

Sakisaka Io is really great for making Kou one of the most realistic characters I've known, this episode really justifies it.

Also speaking of the ending, I'm actually hoping that it'll have a season 2. They can't just make us love Kou more in this episode, two episodes before an ending. Not to mention the love story hasn't developed much yet. Kou and Futaba may have had that romantic scene near of the end of the episode, but that's just the beginning of Kou's realization of his care for Futaba. If they're aiming for a happy ending (which is most likely since this is a shoujo anime), then that's seriously not enough to satisfy everyone, especially the ones who don't/haven't read the manga.

But if it doesn't work out the way I want to-

Glad Yuuri and Futaba already made up, would have been pretty annoying if they extended the issue for more episodes, which would have been disastrous since there are only 2 episodes left.

Anyway, predictable but still emotional for me. It wasn't really over-dramatic so I really enjoyed this episode, as always.

Good feels ep.

I like how all the characters are developing, but it feels a little slow since it's ending in 2 episodes. Though if this gets a season 2 that wouldn't be a problem. IF it does. (which I hope).

Hypoethetically if this does get a sequel, I hope it doesn't go like Kimi ni Todoke did. I liked Kimi, but I like Ao Haru Ride 100x more. Plus the second season of Kimi was basically an entire character reset and it annoyed the shit out of me.

I don't know how the manga goes, but hopefully we see some more Futaba x Kou at the end here!

Kusogaki Kou needs to get his shit together. I get that losing a parent can be painful but building a wall because of past hurt is one of the most annoyingly overused cliche in anime, people are rarely like that in real life.

I was the one who took care of my father everyday until he died from cancer, it wasn't easy when he passed away but life goes on. I also have a friend who lost his mother also because of cancer when he was in middle school so about the same age as when Kou lost his mother, simply put he didn't turn into an unemotional jackass like kusogaki Kou
