Is K-ON! based on a true story?

I heard from a girl that K-ON! is based on a true story about five girls. She didn't tell me much, but told me that the girls died in a plane crash and they made an anime for them.

When I searched it, it was one of the suggestions in Google. But I wasn't able to find anything.

So, is this true or false?

i think it's true.. because if you will watch the episode 27 of its season 2, they never did show what happened in their flight, the days the spent in abroad.. and the fun they had.. what if they never did live after taking the flight.. what if the plane that they got on really did crash... there are lots of flaws and evidence that u can see if that'll just be the ending of the story

Dude. There is a manga caled K-On! college. They made it home, safe and sound and they went to university. Plus, K-On, like many other series is based off a 4-pannel comic strip.

Yea ...... i also heared its a real story.... 5 girls died on plane crush... & the story was found from their diary....

Well, while I was watching the series, I was thinking that K-on is a little out of my taste - but still I watched it. While watching it, a bag of loaf bread that I was planning to eat tomorrow fell down. I dont know why it fell down - its just that Im sure I place it pretty well in the table - but still it fell down. (By the way, my cabinet is just a few feet away from me). Anyway, it is creeping me out big time.

I think that stupid issue is not true. how come Azusa and sawako stayed until Season 3 if 5 of them just (You know) i just don't wanna say it. try to visit google map earth, as you drop there at toyosato school try do a walk and you'll see running marks of yui, mio, tsumugi, nodoka.

For anyone that may read this in 2020. I watched the anime and needed to know about the show. So I did some digging and apparently this is actually based on a LEGIT band named K-ON AKA After-School Tea Party. Idk where everyone got the girls dying and took that route for the anime but theres actually a movie of them going to London together. If you dont believe me they did a live show performance in 2019. It is on YouTube you can check it yourselves. Just something to post even though im sure people know by now

those are the voice actors of the characters, they had a concert on saitama i believe
